UK Men & Women With Over 100 lbs to Lose" leadership.

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

Hi Folks, I have sent a request to the leaders of the above titled team to take the leadership on.
I am now appealing to anyone out there in other teams who have the above criteria or have conquered it to please come along and either join or give advice and support as this is a dying team that needs to be lifted before it fades into oblivion!

So, if you have the time or the desire to join, then please feel free.

Thank you for your time and and, in advance, your participation!

Chris.

Good luck with revitalising the Team and its Leaderships. Its very hard sometimes to breathe new life into a team that is going through a quiet time.

Wishing you well - a link to that team may help others to find it easier??!

Not too stupid that dog, the fires the place to be while some other fool plays around in snow drifts.

Do I? don't I?

Monday, November 29, 2010

I am in several teams on here and have recently joined "Men and women in the UK who need to lose 100lb's"
The current leaders (of which there appears to be 3) haven't posted for over 60 days and the leadership has become vacant. The group is only supported by just of 70 people and has very little interaction amongst it's members. I find this both surprising and sad, as I believe that there are many people out there with this aim and ambition.
The question is ..........................................
......................................do I apply for the leadership?
I have no idea really of what's involved or how to even drum up more support as well as team challenges.
So, there's the first question and now, the second!
Can any other team members offer any guidance? I just don't want to see another team die.
Thank you.
Chris.

I have joined teams and left because of the lack of participation.

GO FOR IT...think you would be a good leader.

I too have noticed that there seems to be a lack of use by the UK members. Perhaps this is because the site is so USA oriented with USA recipe ingredients & measures. I don't find this a problem & adapt to UK standards, but maybe this may put some people off. You would be great as team leader as you are obviously motivated to help & encourage. Perhaps you could see what UK members want from a UK team membership & develop it that way.

I think you would be a great leader. Try and contact the current leaders to see if they need any 'help' first - I think they have to invite you to be a leader. Hope all goes well with the challenge - if you take it up!! emoticon

I wish I could tell you! I noticed that on several other teams to that I joined and subsequently pulled out.

Step up to the plate if you are so inclined. I think there is some guidance from Sparks on what or how to do it.

Excellent!

Happy Thanks Giving Day America!

Thursday, November 25, 2010

This day 2 years ago was spent aboard the Celebrity Century cruising the high seas.
1,900 guests aboard with 95% being American.
What a day! What food! What a memory!
I love Americans, not just for this experience alone, as I live in East Anglia which has a high American population now and historically since the 1940's.
They all seem to unite over celebration and incident alike, and are always welcoming and most generous whenever I have visited their homeland.
So, to all my friends Stateside and here in the UK I wish you especially and all your other compatriot's a wonderful Thanks Giving Day.
God Bless American

Thank you so much. Where in East Anglia are you? We spent three years in England when DH was in the Air Force, many years ago. We lived in Ipswich and Felixstowe. We really enjoyed our time there and found everyone there very friendly. I'd love to go back and visit some day!

    I second that!!

One of the most hospitable place that I have ever been on holiday was America, Florida to be precise. Even amongst Mickey and his friends and all the hoohar that entailed, the greetings we experienced were warm and genuine. The 'Have a nice day' never grew weary on me.

Am I just human?

Wednesday, November 24, 2010

Never suffer with colds......................ever...........
........................and after waking this morning I felt a bit "thick" throat in the making, but decided to go gym before the full blown cold hit. Well I think I'm fine as all the treadmill work came really easy and I loved it all!
I know that exercising when suffering with a virus isn't healthy for you or for those around you either but, I think I must have nipped it in the bud before it got going!
So, from the guy who hasn't suffered from a cold virus for over 3 years, I was beginning to think that I was only being human but, then hey presto, I'm virus free, so human I may not be!
Sorry you mere mortals out there!
Chris.

Well done for going to the gym. Its not easy when you are not feeling your best. Sounds like you worked it off though. You are lucky not having a virus for 3 years, you must be doing the right things.
