Sister's shower; Nephew's tball game; Niece's dance recital

Thursday, June 02, 2011

I can't wait for this weekend!

Tomorrow night is my sister's wedding shower and Saturday I get to go to my nephew's tball game and Saturday night is my niece's dance recital.

They all live about 5-6 hours away, so I'm so excited that everything ended up falling on the same weekend.

3rd day of hawaiian pizza - tomorrow it is back to the basics

Wednesday, June 01, 2011

On Monday I went to my favorite pizza place to eat. My daughter wasn't with, so we actually got to choose what kind of pizza to have instead of just pepperoni (my least favorite). My mom choose hawaiian pizza!!!

Of course there were left overs - which I have spread out between yesterday and today. I made sure to watch the calorie intake. My fat intake was high and my carbs low, but usually I am the reverse so the change since temporary shouldn't be a huge deal.

Tomorrow I'll be back to my regular meal plan, really focusing on keeping the balance between carbs, fat, and protein, but I REALLY enjoyed the pizza the last couple of days - it was so yummy!!!!!!!

Warmth makes it so much easier to exercise!

What a beautiful day!!! Walked to work and the to the library and back. It was the perfect temp for walking!

Too bad that is the only cardio I got in today. Tomorrow isn't looking good either, but we'll see what we can swing.

Hoping that this weather sticks with us for a while.

What a beautiful, wonderful day!

Got my flowers from the auction for my planters, went geocaching, had RoadHouse Hawaiian pizza, and enjoyed the warm weather!!!

I want more days like today!!

Looking for new Cardio options - Can't run and bored with home videos

Sunday, May 29, 2011

I have always been a home fitness video gal. I love the beachbody products and have had Power 90 and TurboJam (Booty Sculpt is still my favorite for strength!) series for ever. I am getting bored with videos and can see myself not giving it my all any more.

I have tried running - starting the coach potato to 5k program 2 different times - getting 3/4ths of the way through both times. I would love to run, but my body doesn't want to cooperate.

With the warmer weather here I really want to get out and do something new, but can't find anything that interests me.

I know not to focus on calories and finding something I like is more important. I love walking, so that is always an option, but if I find something where I could burn more calories, that would be an even better bonus!!!

Any thoughts any one has I'd appreciate!!!!!

I already geocache almost every weekend. My favorite sport, but I have already done all the local caches, so I need to travel to find new areas so it can't be a daily activity for me. emoticon emoticon

I walked a trail today, thought it was going to be an easy walk...I was so wrong. I never knew about these trails in the parks around here until this year when I started Geocaching. It was a real workout, I just felt bad because my daughter came along...

There are easy ones, and then there are those that take you up the hill, and then take you a bit further up the hill, than down the hill, and then somehow it went up again....

Stair, ramp or hill climbing can be challegning even at a walking pace. Or how about jump rope especially in combination with some weighted exercises like lunges or squats.

Swimming, Nordic walking (with walking sticks, great total body workout), kickboxing, Zumba, Urban rebounding? Are you able to take classes or meet with people? A lot of things take on new motivation when you have someone to compete with and keep you going.

What about outdoor cycling, rollerblading or hiking? I understand what you mean about the running, I used to enjoy it once upon a time, but now it just seems like a chore and my body just won't cooperate.

Hmmm... have you tried speed walking? I'm trying to transition from walking to speed walking to running, hopefully that way my body will cooperate a little better with the change. emoticon
