The Gym -- Day 11

I'm up before dawn today...still struggling with my new plateau.
But...I'm feeling great and My neighbors are really noticing.
It's back to winter in my area.
Guess I'll just have to suffer thru another day of Music and Zumba

  At least this time of year, we know the cold can't last too much longer. You are doing a great job with keeping up with your various exercises. You're NOT giving up and that old plateau will move soon. Be patient...... emoticon

    It's cold here today too, but it's supposed to warm up by this afternoon a little.

About the gym..the gym is tricky. In my experience it has to be somewhere I feel comfortable. If I'm comfortable with my surroundings I will get a great workout in. So I am more comfortable with a smaller gym for some reason. That is just me, though. Also, what has helped me too, is knowing the trainers and some of the staff by name. So when I walk in they know my name. It feels good to walk in and have all the friendly encouraging staff members cheering me on!!

Today is another gorgeous day that makes you glad to be alive and want to take long brisk walks in the sunshine and then come inside and zumba.

Here is Inspiration for anyone interested in the power of staying fit while having a good time. The woman is well into her 80's.
Some copies say the guy she's dancing with is her grandson.

  I have seen the video of the 80 year old woman and her grandson before and also an interview of her. If you NEVER stop dancing, you can DANCE FOREVER!!! A friend of ours played for the Chicago Bears. One summer their coach arranged for the entire team to take ballet lessons for the entire training period. The guys were pooh-poohing it and thinking it would be a piece of cake. He admitted when it was over that it was the most difficult training session he had ever done and that he had a whole new respect for dancers. He also said that he had never been in better shape.
Do you have a DVD that you Zumba to or do you go to a class?

Once again the medical experts have come out with the results of another 13 year study on 34,000 women and the battle of the bulge. This time they’ve determined that for middle aged or older women…even 60 minutes of daily physical exercise will not prevent most women from GAINING weight, under the NORMAL American diet.
And ‘If the weight is already on…it’s almost impossible to lose it’

Oh good! Really Einstein ???

They spend tons of money on these studies and end up knowing ‘Jack’.

Just tell me how you fight ‘ninja’ metabolism, and avoid the frustrating plateaus....I’m already doing 1200 to 1400 calories.

    I'm eating between 1400-1500 calories a day, and I'm doing cardio for 90 minutes (at leas) including circuit strength work. My calorie deficit is about 1000 a day, and I'm still only losing 1/2 - 1 pound a week! Either I have a VERY VERY VERY slow metabolism, or my thyroid autoimmune problem really holds things back.

Of course, if I ate the 'normal American diet' I'd gain a pound A DAY!!! What's up with this?!?

    I've known this since day one of menopause. No study needed. LOL.

I do 2 hours of cardio a day. I am trying to do a minimum of 12,500 steps a day and on most days I get in much more up to 25, 550. My best so far.

I eat 1200 to 1500 calories a day now. Usually on the low side.

If all else fails I may have some of my organs removed to lose weight. emoticonI'm really not using my uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, and appendix. I probably have too much liver. And they can suck out some fat while they get rid of all of those too. emoticon

Acceptance - Day 7

When I was younger, I was soooo obsessed with what others thought of how I looked and what I did, that I drove myself into yo-yo dieting all over the place. I was far more willing to hear the negatives, that when an actual compliment came my way, I thought I was being patronized. So when it comes to acceptance, I have a great appreciation for people who care about me, even knowing all my 'flaws'.
