Just Do It

Monday, May 03, 2010

Today is a rainy gloomy day and I just want to veg.
But I vowed to restart my exercise challenge and workout.
I have zip muscle tone and I need to lift my spirits.

So I remembered this cute clip of a cat on a treadmill.
I feel your pain kitty
Today I plan to do 60 minutes of dancing.
Food is between 1200 and 1400 with no effort.
No real appetite.

Hope your dance was invigorating and energizing!
I honestly do not know what it is like not to have an appetite! I eat when I'm happy and when I'm sad. I eat when I'm tired and when I'm rested. I eat when I am worried and when I'm at peace....sigh.
Hope you are fueling your body with good things!

The dancing sounds like a great idea. Dancing always lifts my spirits and doesn't seem like grueling exercise (even though it is one of the best forms of exercise).
Each day will get better....... emoticon

Balance Is Everything

Sunday, May 02, 2010

I confess that I tend to be a little obsessive at times. When I get focused on something, just stand back. It's how I operate. Give me a project I can dig my heels in and the creative juices flow.

I just wish I could do that with exercise. When I get into it, I over do it and pay for it...big time

I guess I need to restart my exercise challenge and do something a little different every day.

I, too, become obsessive and over-focussed and am working on becoming a more balanced person in every area of my life. It is a work in progress and I have no illusions of it happening overnight. I guess the important thing is that I AM WORKING ON IT!!!
I love that Bulldog.......

Great photo and a good thought about exercise. I just shoot for 10 minutes a day (every day), and I almost always exceed that. You have to start somewhere!

I can so relate. It seems like I can never find the balance in my life between work, family and "me time". I agree balance is everything and I think most of us could deal with finding a little more balance

I can so relate. I joined SP on the 25th? and started to go to the gym and would stay there until I had burned 500 calories. Why? Because in my mind a pound weighs 3500 calories and if I am the gym burning 500 calories 6 days a week I would be guaranteed to lose at least a pound a week. What I neglected to take into consideration was my current fitness level (both flexibility and cardio). I learned that burning that many calories was doable but exhausting. I would make it for 3 days and then not have enough energy to do the rest of the week, kind of burned or spent out. Now, I have modified my excercise goal to simply go to the gym 6 days a week and do at least 30 mins. That alone has made a world of difference.

You can balance everything. I am married to an OCD man so I know of what I speak. LOL.

You can do this and not injure yourself. Re-evaluate your excercise goals so they are manageable and go forth and conquer.

As a very wise man once said "DO IT"!

Matt Harding's Happy Dance.

Saturday, May 01, 2010

A few years ago Matt Harding got a genius of an idea to compile a video of his travels around the world where he got perfect strangers to do a happy dance with him.

To this day, I can't watch it without smiling.
It is an exercise which warms my heart.

We should all have a little Matt Harding in us.
The world would be a happier and healthier place.
"Where the hell is Matt?"

Summer is coming

Friday, April 30, 2010

I was sinking down again yesterday, so I tried to distract myself.
First I tried on a bathing suit to see how I look now. emoticon

Needless to say, I look much better with my clothes on. I think my lifelong dream of becoming a stripper are gone for good. They need to get the formula from one of those Amazon headshrinkers and turn it into a body cream.

Then I decided to tweeze my eyebrows.
Out came the magnification mirror.
And while we are at it, lets put a spotlight on the wrinkles....
So I decided...maybe I should go for a safer distraction. I know... a manicure. So I started looking and realized, my hands are aging faster that the rest of me.
emoticonI really need to wear gloves when I clean.

So if you go to the Jersey Shore this summer and you see a tall women with head to toe cover up, bushy eyebrows, and gloves....stop by and say hello.

My bathing suit is somewhat like a cover up, but I don't care. The water feels great, and it's helping me become more fit. I hope you will jump in too!

Bathing suit time. Ugh. I haven't seen mine in a while. Even when I was young and thin I hated bathing suit time. It's like the entire world can see everything that is wrong with you. LOL.

Sher....words fail me! You are amazing!

I hate the magnification mirror- but I can't see anything without it! It's like a horror film to look at my face closeup like that.

As for bathing suits...yuk. It's like that part in Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe- the book, not the movie. She is feeling so great and thin and on top of the world- and one cruel person puts her right back where she started...sigh. Bathing suits do that to me.

I am more grateful each year that I married a near-sighted man!

Each T-Shirt is another Slip

Thursday, April 29, 2010

I came across this clip of the Guiness Record for most t-shirts worn at a time.
When I started this quest I had OVER 100 pounds to lose.
Watching this video is a visual reminder of how easy it is to add on the pounds
and a reminder of why it's so much harder to take off...

Guiness Record Most T Shirts Worn at a time.
It is as if each t-shirt is another slip.

I'm not going back and I still have a long road ahead but I'll make it.
Thank you my friends for all your support...I truly appreciate it.
