Making changes

Monday, January 11, 2010

Today I got my lab results from the dr. They are putting me on cholesterol medicine. Wow I really need to make some changes. I've got to get on a regular exercise program and stick with it. I'm good for a week or two and then I quit. It seems I get out of the habit and then can't get back to it. Normally I'm a very active person. I do sit at a desk 5 days a week but on Thursday I walk alot on my job. I've been wearing a pedometer and logging my steps but not writing them down. on the week ends I never sit down. My husband and I have been working on our house for 2 years now. There is always something that needs attention. During the summer I'm outside alot. Working in the yard(4 acres), cleaning the pool, playing with my nephews that come and stay the summer.

Today is my Mom's birthday and 6 months from today I will be 49 years old. I would like to finally lose the 20 extra lbs I've been carrying around for the last few years, get my blood pressure and cholesterol under control.

I know I can do this, I will do this!!!

So far today I had to run down my 4 dogs that got out of the fence. Came back and did 20 minute dumbbell work with coach nicole. Now I'm headed out side to pull weeds out of my garden.

Met my Goal!!

Sunday, July 06, 2008

I set out April this year to run/walk the Peachtree Road Race! July 4th I completed the 10K race in 1 hour and 40 minutes. Not bad considering that was my first race ever. It was so encouraging to see all the different types of people in this race. Big, small, younger, old, tall, short, skinny and obese. They gave their all and completed the race. I was very proud to be one of those 50,000 people. So now I'm getting serious and I am continuing to train and do a 5K in August.
