A New Attitude

Well...I've been eating really great and exercising daily. I thought that Easter was going to be really hard because there is soooo much temptation to eat candy. However, this year, I made my fiancee and I baskets with practical things instead of candy...This is the first time in a long time that I've been able to stay on track. I did eat a nice Easter dinner but didn't go overboard...which would have been VERY easy to do. My fiancee and I set a wedding date for July 2010...that's going to be my main motivation in getting healthy and looking the way I want to look when that day gets here. All I can do is take baby steps. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to dance so I just ordered Core Rhythms..has anyone ever done these exercises before? Hopefully, they'll work and be fun!!

It's been awhile

Well...I haven't been on the site for awhile. I've been having a really hard time with losing weight. I eat really well and exercise for a few days...then... I crave something and "have" to have it. I need to figure out a way to not give into these cravings. If anyone has any advice..that would be great :) I've starting working out at home doing The Firm...my gym membership was up and they keep raising the prices...since I have to restart paying student loans...I had to make some cuts. Im just hoping that I can get as motivated at home as I did at the gym... I hope everyone is doing well and accomplishing all of their goals :)

    I have been on this site for over a year. I figured out tracking food really helps. As for working out, try to add variety to avoid hitting a plateau and it will keep things fun.

I tried to lose weight without tracking my food intake and exercises and I ended up gaining some of the weight back. So I learned that tracking food helps me. Losing weight is a trial and error... I hope you find out what works for you.

Man...did I fall off the wagon

Well....This is Saturday was my 26th birthday. My boyfriend and I had a party together at a local restaurant/bar that we had planned for months. I did not go to the gym at all this weekend and completely did not pay attention to what i ate or drank which is terrible. Everyone kept telling me it's your birthday weekend you should eat/drink what you want...and I unfortunately listened. Starting today I need to really watch my diet and make sure I don't skip the gym...If anyone has any words of wisdom it would really help..It worries me that I stopped my healthy lifestyle as soon as I did...and I dont want to fall out of it again...

    Don't dwell on the past. It is unrealistic to think that you are not going to have set backs. You indulged yourself over the weekend and hopefully you had a great time celebrating your birthday. Now what is important is that you let it go and get back on your Spark routine.

    It's hard to say that deviating from your healthy lifestyle (because you're not on a diet!) wont happen ever again. It's all about moderation... and you're friends were right, it was your BIRTHDAY! If there is any time all year to indulge yourself, it's your b-day.

The guilt you feel now is a double edge sword. On one side, the guilt motivates you to get back into your healthy lifestyle after enjoying yourself, but the down side is that the guilt will eat u up inside and cause you to falter more.

I say the next time you celebrate something, be prepared to indulge yourself! If you can, make better choices when it comes to food you're going to eat... I'm not saying order the salad instead of the N.Y. Steak, just maybe skip the appeitizers / cocktails/dessert or order healthier sides with it. Have the steak with more veggies / salad / baked potato instead of fries. And nix the gravy!

Try only eatting half! That way you eat what you want, and you have leftovers for the next day. This way you eat less, but you get to eat that awsome dinner twice!

The beginning of my journey

This is my 1st blog EVER so forgive me if it's terrible!! I've been eating healthy and haven't had any slip ups yet..I made my boyfriend take all the junk food that was in the house to work with him to give away! Out of sight out of mind..right? Today I went to the gym and renewed my membership. I took a class called synergy(it's a mix of cardio and weightlifting) that I use to take every Monday and man did it kick my butt...and it never felt so good. I forgot how much I enjoy going and how good my body feels after. I was sooooo energetc when I left the gym and on the way home it was the first time in a long time that Dairy Queen didn't look good to me...that in itself is an accomplishment to me!! haha I feel so good right now that I just had to write abut it. I'll keep everyone posted and thanks to everyone for their support!! emoticon

    Keep up the high energy and motivation! Good thing getting rid of junk food, unfortunately my hubby insists on keeping it around. But like you mention a good butt kicking workout and that junk does even look good.

    Congrats on EVERYTHING! Getting rid of the junk food, working out, not going to Dairy Queen! I kind of miss that feeling of being incredibly sore after a workout. I know, call me crazy. Haha. But congrats with everything again and talk to you soon! :)

    Wow! congratulations on your healthy lifestyle habits! That is so awesome. I've felt the same way about exercising. When you don't do it, you feel like it is such a hassle (what a lie!). Then you start, and you feel great! You feel confident, energized, alive! So you miss a workout and bam! you feel bad. Who would have thought?

You are doing an awesome job...keep up the great work!
