My roommate got the Insanity DVDs from a friend so I decided to do them with her.

I was doing SparkPeople bootcamp but I left that challenge in leu of Insanity since these DVDs are completely enough on their own.

We did the first real day today. Yesterday was the fit test and it was pretty hard on it's own. Today, however, was in a it's own level of difficulty. I am going to be sore tomorrow, I can already feel it.

But we're going to keep each other motivated and completely it. Just 60 days and we've only got 58 left.

Next week I plan on following the Insanity nutrition plan, so we'll see how that goes.

In other really good news, I've lost 5 pounds, woop woop.

Congratulations on losing the five pounds. I have never heard of the DVD that you are talking about. Good luck with it.

Diet and Bootcamp Update

Saturday, July 21, 2012

So I've successfully completed a week of bootcamp. I only missed one day of cardio. I missed two days of strength training but I doubled up one day and so I did complete all the videos.

Earlier this week I had a small episode with heat exhaustion. This 100 degree weather almost got the best of me, but I was ok, just had a little scare when I almost passed out. I decided to skip cardio and strength training the next day just to make sure I was ok. The good thing is, though, that pushes me to starting week 2 of bootcamp tomorrow, a Sunday. That will be nice so my weekly fitness tracker will be on the same schedule as my bootcamp days.

My diet has been going pretty well. I've been cheating a little bit, but there hasn't been one day that I've gone over my calorie limit, which is nice. Today I've not really followed it since I had Indian with one of my friends, but still I didn't go over calories.

I plan on weighing myself on Monday, and then again on Wednesday when I finish the diet. Then we'll see how well it's done. I can't wait to be done with bootcamp to see how much my measurements have changed.

I've been feeling a lot better, thanks to working out almost every day this week. So hopefully I will keep this up and actually get back into shape like I used to be. So far, so good.

Cleansing Diet, with a twist

Friday, July 13, 2012

So I recently saw this diet on Pinterest (my favorite site ever!) and I was really attracted to it.

The diet seriously lacks calories, protein, and fiber so I'm going to do a twist on it. I plan on doing the diet but I plan on adding a protein shake that includes a fiber element every morning. I also plan on drinking green tea per the suggestion of a friend. This way I can get the cleansing properties of the diet and still meet my nutrients and still get 1200 calories.

Of course I don't plan to loose as much weight as the diet promises, but if I do it this way I also don't except to gain the majority of it back like most people do if they do what's set. If anything it's something new to try so maybe it will get me out of this rut that I've been in lately.

Since I'm going out of town the next couple of days I plan to go to the grocery store and start the diet on Tuesday. In the meantime I will be making my complete meal plans so I won't decide I don't know what to eat and quit on it. I'll post my total weight loss and what I thought about the diet after the seven days are over.

The protein/fiber shake I plan to drink:

Bootcamp setback and restart

Friday, July 13, 2012

So bootcamp never really happened for me last month. However, this month I am determined to make it work. After bootcamp I'm going to start Jillian's Michaels 30 day shred, and then possibly something even more challenging like P90x or Insanity.

I'm sick of this weight I have gained. I used to be in shape but due to the onset of chronic migraine headaches I think I just let myself go, however I've finally decided that I'm not going to let my headaches dictate what I do anymore. If I'm not healthy I'm never going to be able to deal with them anyway.

My freshman year of college I was in the best shape ever, then I weighed about 145lbs. The goal that I have set for myself now is 130. I would like to get down to 130 just to see what it feels like, but if I get down to 140 and feel that I've lost too much weight and I feel good there then I'll stop. The typically healthy weight range for my height is anywhere between 130 and 150. I'm shooting for anything between 130 and 145.

To hold myself accountable I am going to post photos each week, starting with today.

Here it goes!

28 Day Bootcamp Challenge

Tuesday, May 29, 2012

Today I signed up for the official SparkPeople bootcamp challenge. Hopefully this will give me motivation to make daily exercise a habit, and seeing the results should make me want to continue exercising. Making something a habit seems to be that hardest thing, yet it's so easy to let something drop out of being a habit.

Let's Go!

It IS easy to let exercise slide. We get too busy with the rest of our lives very easily.

I wish you the very best in your efforts to conquer this personal challenge.

keep us posted re: your progress.
