Let's hope, it's definitely a new year and as with last year my goals are the same-- track my food, get more exercise and get healthy.
I've also got another motivation for accomplishing these goals, i'm getting married. The problem is, it's next month and i've gotten nowhere with my goals. I also happen to go for my dress fitting in a couple weeks, but at least I know one thing my dress does fit-- mainly because they ordered it a size bigger due to my flabby abs, lol.
So with that in mind, I won't stop even after the wedding is past. Wish me luck!!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm more than ready for winter to be over. Since the beginning of the year, I haven't accomplished very much--but i'm working to change that.
I used to go to Bally Total Fitness, was faithful to it for about a year and a half then somehow as it always does, life got in the way and I stopped going. I've now joined a gym both closer to home and my work. Though I haven't gone as much as I'd like, I am going. I'm also determined to go down at least one size--it'll take me a while i'm sure, but i'm not worried because I know I can do it.
Right now i'm thinking of what I can do once the weather gets nicer, so far:
1. Get outside and walk more
2. Gym, that's a no brainer
3. Maybe get my bike and start riding that as well.
When or if I accomplish #1 and #3 is iffy, but it's the start of a plan at least.

Has anybody seen these? I just bought myself a pair 2 weeks ago, and have been wearing them everyday since. They are similar to those put out by Skechers--but these are by New Balance. I love New Balance sneakers to begin with, so when I saw these at the store I just had to try them.
They are nicer to look at then the Skechers also, in that the heel isn't huge and funny looking. Granted they didn't come with a cd, like skechers do, but they do have a picture and a list of what muscles you'll be toning each day. I can feel it in my legs, and hopefully will soon see some results.

I was just reading a previous blog I'd written and sadly it was from over a year ago. Needless to say, i'm not maintaining as I'd like. I take full responsibility for this lapse, and am doing something to remedy it. Some things I realized are:
1. Not going to the gym and excercising as often--which is a "duh" anyway, has really affected my weight.
2. Tracking on sparkpeople is not enough, and I don't mean just calories--though I haven't been tracking excercise, cause well I wasn't even doing it.
3. I'm going to kick my ass back into gear and it's not a competition but I don't care.
So, I started tracking again 2 months ago and so far have lost 4 pounds since March, not a lot but something. I also went back to the gym for the first time in about 7 months, I know it's been that long because it's the amount of time i've been in my house. My boyfriend just got a 2nd job with the census bureau and I don't start back to school until the end of June, so I thought "why not use this time to pick yourself up and start to get healthy." That's what i'm doing, and my gym membership doesn't expire for another month, and I will renew it when it's up next month. I felt really good after my workout today and I like that feeling. But you are probably thinking, well who doesn't right? True, but for me it's nice because I know i'm doing something for myself that I wouldn't normally do lately.
Anyway, I'd say wish me luck but i'm not taking that route this time. I know it's all about hard work and I can do it!

I'm going to expand on my previous entry about your significant other influencing the way you eat. While I do still believe this is true, I also think that if you are a healthy eater then you can influence them as well. While i'm not eating a healthy as I should be, I do still keep track and watch what I eat. This is also true when i'm eating out, which i've done quite a few times in the last few weeks. Luckily I come on Sparkpeople and check out the food choices for the places i'm going, if they are listed here that is. If they aren't then I go straight to www.calorieking.com, and it's a great website. I highly recommend it because they have most of the common eateries as well as a few that you wouldn't think of. I've even got the little book, though I don't carry it around with me like I should.
For future reference though, I do plan on taking it with me and i've pretty much figured what I can eat when I go to certain places anyway but it's still good to have. So I hope that in the future I can be a good and healthy influence when it comes to food choices for my significant other.
Also, i'm still maintaining pretty well and I've got a wedding coming up, so hopefully i'll have some nice pictures to post on here.
