Another Prayer Request

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

At this point, my mom is having surgery, so I'd appreciate it if anyone who reads this could say a prayer for a successful surgery and a great recovery. Thank you.

My plan was to blog every day, but that's unrealistic. Then, when I missed the first day this month, I almost gave up. My problem is I fall into that, "Well, it's not perfect, so I might at well stop." Not this time. So I didn't blog for a few days when I planned to blog every day this month. I'm not perfect and the goals I set here aren't going to be perfect either. I just need to do what I can when I can.

Yes! Great attitude. Just keep coming back without abandoning your goals. "Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out".

Perfectionism is hard to live up to :) Nothing is every perfect...
My favorite Flylady quote is: "Progress, not perfection"
Good luck reaching your goals!

Good for you! The all or nothing mentality hinders us on many levels. Keep Sparking!

That's all any of us can do. We aren't perfect every day, but a slip up is only that. Today I went to a graduation party and gave myself permission to eat what I wanted only not to much.

Good luck on reaching your goals, and have a great day. emoticonMuch success on your journey! emoticon

Hi fellow Sparkers,
I just wanted to send out a personal request. If anyone gets a chance, please say a prayer for my mom who is getting a test result tomorrow afternoon. Please pray for good news for her and all of us. Thanks.

Blue Skies

Monday, June 03, 2013

My big exercise today was cutting the grass. Since I like taking pictures, and using them for my blog, I almost took a picture of the lawn mower, but the sky was so pretty I took a picture of that instead.

I cut the lawn yesterday too! LOL, but I think I might have wrecked the blade a little, I must have hit a stone or rock or something? OOPS!!!

Love your photo!

This Day is Done

Sunday, June 02, 2013

All right, second blog in a row. The weather wasn't that great in my neck of the woods, so no pictures from a walk today. Here I am at the end of the day, so I thought I'd leave you with my favorite poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow called "The Day is Done"...

THE DAY is done, and the darkness
Falls from the wings of Night,
As a feather is wafted downward
From an eagle in his flight.

I see the lights of the village
Gleam through the rain and the mist,
And a feeling of sadness comes o'er me
That my soul cannot resist:

A feeling of sadness and longing,
That is not akin to pain,
And resembles sorrow only
As the mist resembles the rain.

Come, read to me some poem,
Some simple and heartfelt lay,
That shall soothe this restless feeling,
And banish the thoughts of day.

Not from the grand old masters,
Not from the bards sublime,
Whose distant footsteps echo
Through the corridors of Time.

For, like strains of martial music,
Their mighty thoughts suggest
Life's endless toil and endeavor;
And to-night I long for rest.

Read from some humbler poet,
Whose songs gushed from his heart,
As showers from the clouds of summer,
Or tears from the eyelids start;

Who, through long days of labor,
And nights devoid of ease,
Still heard in his soul the music
Of wonderful melodies.

Such songs have power to quiet
The restless pulse of care,
And come like the benediction
That follows after prayer.

Then read from the treasured volume
The poem of thy choice,
And lend to the rhyme of the poet
The beauty of thy voice.

And the night shall be filled with music,
And the cares, that infest the day,
Shall fold their tents, like the Arabs,
And as silently steal away.
