Motivation

Monday, June 24, 2013

My biggest struggle is with motivation. Today when I got home from work I did not want to do my run. I took a nap and then thought of excuses as to why I should not go. I finally decided to just go and quit making excuses. I have a goal for my next half marathon. I want to run the Erie half marathon in 2:10. The first time I did the Erie half I ran it in 2:15.

So sitting on my behind and making excuses is not going to get me to my goal. So I need to my goal in focus and keep moving.

I struggle with getting moving a lot too. I always feel good when I push myself and just get it done. emoticon

I have plans of doing my 1st ever 1/2 marathon! Pray for me I have been eating too much lately and I am afraid that is going to make it difficult to finish!
Praying that we both stay motivated! emoticon
Blessings,

Super job getting beyond the excuses. Bet you felt much better for having done it. I did not want to do my strength training today (hubby wasn't any help - "Oh, give yourself a break"), but I did it anyway.

For a long time I would give myself a sticker on a calendar every time I met my exercise goals. Then after 10 stickers I would reward myself with something like a healthy treat or a new pair of socks or a day off exercise or something like that. As silly as it sounds, it worked. I really enjoyed seeing those stickers add up.

Accountability for 6/17-6/23

Monday, June 18, 2012

My goals for this week are:

1. Stay within my calorie range 7/7 days.
2. To do cardio on Sun, Tues, Thurs, Fri and Sat.
3. To take pilates class on Tues and Thurs.
4. To strength train on Wednesday.

My next half marathon is coming up on July 15th in Erie, PA. I ran it for the first time two years ago. I will do better this time.

BLC 19 goals

Saturday, April 14, 2012

My goals for this challenge are:

1. Stay within my calorie range 7/7 days.
2. To do cardio 5/7 days.
3. To do strength training 3/7 days.
4. To be more mindful of what I am eating and why I am eating.
5. To do an accountability blog each week.

I want to keep my goals simple, because I have a tendency to overwhelm myself.

Go me!!! emoticon

DC Rock and Roll half marathon

Sunday, March 18, 2012

The half marathon was a lot of fun! The crowd support was fun! Spectators made some funny signs. One sign said "Motivational sign". The route was beautiful. It was an awesome way to see DC. There were a few bands which kept it interesting. My favorite band was closest to the end. The weather was warm for this time of the year, but it was better than having rain or snow! There were some hills, but nothing major. There was plenty of food at the end. I would definitely do this race again.

The only complaint is that RFK stadium is not convenient.

The expo had a lot of stuff. It took an hour to walk through it.

Now getting ready for Pittsburgh's half marathon!!!!

So did you get to see cherry blossoms. I use to live in the DC Baltimore area and some of my friends posted pictures of the trees from this weekend.

Good to hear you had fun and there was lots of food.

Glad you enjoyed the RnR. Ironically, it was 35 degrees when we woke up for our race. When our corral was released at the starting line, it was 43...in St Petersburg... FLORIDA! Brrrr! Still, I can't wait for next year's RnR.
