Haiti and our hearts

By now, most have heard about the devastation and suffering in Haiti due to the recent earthquake. This ENORMOUS calamity comes to the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and one of the poorest in the world. It is our neighbor.

Anyone in a position to help, GO FOR IT! Bob Hope once said "If you haven't any charity in your heart, you have the worst kind of heart trouble." We are doing so much for our hearts health and well being here/sparking. Here's one more challenge! The lists for how to contribute are many- just go through the links of your local paper to choose what works for you if you are so moved and are fortunate to have any discretionary income. Please keep in your prayers all those suffering in Haiti, and their loved ones who are worried sick elsewhere in the world. While I hesitate to bring world issues to this sort of forum, I wanted to make the plug to all my communities, including this wonderful one.

    It's time like this when differences should be put aside. We are all sorrowful and heartbroken over the devastation visited upon Haiti; the earthquake and the poverty. I know my heart is heavy just from seeing the pictures and reading the news.

My prayers and thoughts are with the country and people of Haiti. God will be in the midst.

    I wasn't sure if i should post a link..some people get sensitive...but i am glad you took the initiative..because what happened in Haiti is an enormous tragedy...i donated and i hope many people will do the same...we have to start reaching out..and most of all remember just how very lucky and blessed we are here in America..no matter what!!! emoticon for posting this Blog emoticon emoticon

    Thanks for bringing this up. As I do things around the house or sit on the puter, I hear the news in the background. Last night I was even dreaming that I was able to go there to help. I had to bring my car in for its 90,000 maintenance and had been quoted a certain price. Turns out, I don't have a fuel pump so therefore my bill was $100 less than quoted. I was thinking I could get a hair cut and color and I could get Onyx's hair cut too. I can't really afford to send money, yet this is money I thought was already spent for the car...so I am sending it to Red Cross instead. I'll cut our own hair until I need a good cut for a job or something.

    I think you are right to bring this up. I'll take it a step further and remind those who simply don't have money to send, that prayers are helpful, too....for those who are injured as well as those who are trying to help.
