Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes

Thursday, August 08, 2013

The only one that doesn't hurt is my toes! Lots of furniture moving, painting and cleaning has left me pretty bumped and bruised. In ways I am proud of the fact that I was able to increase my dumbbell weights but now I wish I still had the lesser pound weights.

It's hard to take steps backward but listening to my body is important too as I don't think that I could handle doing much of anything right now. So a few days of rest so I can be ready to go full force as soon as I can.

You sound like a turnedo, with all the moving furniture, cleaning and painting.
The best way to test your weight is by doing 12 repetition with good form if by the 12th rep you are doing good is time to increase but not more than 10%. If you are loosing the good posture by the 12th rep then stay at the way you are.
Give yourself a rest then start over.

You must listen to your body but if it's not in pain that is "I need to see a doctor" then you should be alright to restart workout in a few days....

God bless & enjoy the burn.....

Good Gravy... it's been crazy!!

Thursday, August 01, 2013

July was a whirl wind of crazy emotions, lots of activities, and a new endeavor for our family. Even with all the craziness I did continue to lose some weight and eat healthier throughout the month. Not as much of a weight loss as I would have liked but I did lose several inches which makes me just as happy.

I've learned a few things about myself this month which have made me very proud.
I make healthier choices now without even thinking.
I crave a workout practically every day.
I can cope with a step backwards without falling apart.
I no longer feel bad about myself because I know I am working to improve.

So even though August is looking to be just as crazy as July I will not let it take me by surprise. I will plan for the busy days and promise myself to take time to log in to SP each day.

Birthday Calories Don't Count

Sunday, July 07, 2013

Please oh please let that be true. I decided to tread lightly this last week as I approached my 40th birthday. I had planned according to my Spark Solution Challenge and eagerly awaited the new recipes that were coming. However, my family and friends felt differently. They were more interested in making sure that I had the best birthday ever.

What they didn't take into account was the fact that I didn't want to eat party food for the not 1, not 2, but 3 parties/getaways that they had planned for me.

I am afraid to step on the scale in the morning, especially knowing that the partying isn't over. We still have my in laws party for me tonight.

So I sit here in silent prayer that birthday calories really don't count.

Sorry to break it to you, but the calories DO count!! We all fall of the wagon once in a while. All you have to do is say thank you for the parties and start a new day. You really don't have to overdo it. You can eat something healthy throughout the day.

    Happy Birthday Shay!!!!
I know how you feel, I just went through it myself with my cousins from NV throwing me under the bus.....unfortunately the scale don't care. Make a plan to start over as soon as the last relative leaves. If you need help I'm recuperating already..give me a shout.

Happy Belated Birthday! You will get back on track. It's okay to party every once in a while. But don't beat yourself up about it. This is apart of our journey. My 33rd is Thursday. Keep in mind, you are living a lifestyle. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Going... Going... Gone!

Pounds that is! I am finally seeing the scale move again and I have to tell you that it feels GRRREATT! I started the Spark Solution plan this past Monday and even with a few adjustments and an unexpected road trip the scale is moving.

I am trying out all these new recipes that I never would have given a second glance and I am not hungry. There is no need to hide my sons treats because I don't want them.

I know that we shouldn't put too much into the scale but I have to tell you that it just feels great when those numbers decrease.

I'm so happy the scale is moving in the right direction!
I had a wonderful weekend with my "old" family, I didn't know my uncle was coming to my aunts 100's birthday, he lives in NV and he is 97. I got a little de railed but I don't feel guilty because I made good choices and the things I treat myself to like a piece of the B'day cake, it was planned and thought through.
I really starting my week late but my goal is to leave the 170's behind for good.
Keep Sparking!
