New Week, New Goals

Tuesday, November 27, 2012

This week, my main goal is to do something active every single day. Even if it's just 10 minutes, I need to get in the habit of doing SOMETHING everyday. That is exactly where my problem lies: I do great for days and then one day I just don't feel like it and then it turns into only working out a couple days a week. That just isn't going to help me reach my goals.

So for this week:
-Do something active every day
-Track all food
-Find meals that I can prepare over the weekend to take for lunch (lean cuisines just aren't cutting it anymore)

I know EXACTLY how you feel! I have been on this roller coaster lately, and haven't worked out in a while. I like the "do something consistent every other day, no matter what" idea. I'll encourage you if you encourage me!! :)

You have many nice plans. Apply them and you will progress towards your goals for certain.

Many, many years ago, a wise and experienced man suggested to me that at a minimum, work one's exercise program, every other day, and to do everything possible to never, ever miss two days in a row.

Eacha dn every time that I apply those gems to my routine, I work a strong and beneficial program. ( When I don't do it that way - I don't have a strong and progressive program going! )

Sounds like you have some great goals. I know I have been so much happier since I switched out the convenience foods for meals I've prepared. It is more work, but well worth it to eat something so much better. You can do it!

Starting Again

Tuesday, November 20, 2012

I probably picked the absolute worst time to start again - I mean the week of Thanksgiving... really, Shay? Oh well, I like a challenge!

Yesterday evening I did my first run since the time changed. I was out of town for a week and worked out in a hotel gym, and the other days I did short power workouts inside. Anyway, so yesterday my goal was to just run one lap around my neighborhood and then walk one lap (each lap is roughly 1/3 mile) and do a total of four laps. Because I'd slacked on running, I wanted to give myself permission to take is slow and ease back into it. And do you know what I did? I walked one lap as a warm up then I ran all four other laps. I kept hearing the voice in my headphone say I'd gone another 1/2 mile and just decided to keep going. It felt AMAZING. I pushed myself and just really made myself proud.

Yay for small steps!

Wow! That is incredible! I wish I could run. I feel like I would love it...but I just am not patient enough to work my way into it. I don't like being outside enough to do it...I love walking on a treadmill, though!!!

My first doctor told me to just take a leisurely walk or stroll down the street and that is howit started for me. I now do over 10 mles per day on my stationaryindoor reculmbent cycle in about 45 minutes or less each day. and I am down 60 pounds and my numbers are all improving daily. Keep focused for success. You cn do it. Go for it.
