Finally Getting Somewhere

Friday, June 08, 2012

I've started over, and this time I'm finally getting somewhere. I found an app on my iPhone called Lose It! It has really worked for me. It gives me a daily calorie budget. I'm also preparing, once again, for a 5k held in August 2012.

I actually FEEL like I can reach my goals. I'm going in stages so as not to get overwhelmed. I'm loving it!!

I have great support from a dear friend. He encourages me all the time. I have also been an encouragement to others. Co-workers, friends and acquaintances have started their own journeys to better health!

I can hardly wait to meet my first goal! I am playing this journey by ear: I'll know when I've met my ultimate goal when I get there. :)

Onto the next stage...!

Tuesday, April 26, 2011

Well, I managed to lose 12 of the 15 lbs I was shooting for for the first stage of my goal. My first goal checkpoint was 15 lbs by April 24. I didn't do too bad. As a matter of fact I did great, in my opinion! Now onto the second stage. (I think three stages should do

My next goal checkpoint is approx. 16 lbs by July 4.

Just taking a moment to say that I am amazed at how I am doing this time. I actually have the determination and mindset to reach the goals I have set for myself. I thank God that it is going so well. I set a goal for 15 lbs by April 24 and it looks like I will make it....Yay me!!

So Far, So Good....

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

For some reason, this time I am REALLY doing this thing!! On Feb. 28 I made a decision to really work towards, not losing, but eating healthy, working out, and not eating any junk food for 2 months straight. Amazingly I have been able to do it! I have shunned the sweets (my ultimate temptation!), the chips, and the sodas. Funny thing is I haven't even been tempted to eat them!! I've been doing OK with my water intake. I incorporated green tea this week. I've also been journaling...writing up my food plan each night for the following day. I'm so thankful that this is going well.

I've been going to Zumba and I LOVE it!!! I've also been walking 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes. I'm so looking forward to the outcome on Easter (that's my cutoff for the sweets, etc.)! It rained today, so I will be doing my Zumba online tonight (YouTube!!). I am really in a "don't-feel-like-it" mood today because I'm tired, but I AM going to workout!!!

I'm so excited because I get to move back into my own place this weekend!! THAT should burn some calories...LOL! That will be my substitute for the Zumba I will miss Saturday.

Great job! I did Zumba for a while. I enjoyed it as well but I have a bad back and eventually stopped. But I just picked up a Zumba VHS tape in a thrift store so I am going to try it again at home. Keepup the good work.

Another Day...Another Chance...

Trying this one more time. Not putting too much pressure on myself. Taking it one day and one step at a time.

I started doing Zumba on 2/12!

First goal is 15 lbs.
