Tomorrow is the final weigh-in for my non-SP weight loss competition over a Mamavation.com. I was one of 20 contenders for a $500 prize and a pair of COOL Earth Footwear shoes. Two gals were the grand prize winners so no longer in this consolation competition. Week after week, gals were eliminated for not following requirements of posting pictures of the scale, posting measurements on time, etc. We're down the final six or seven of us.
Now, my loss has not been spectacular but I thought I might have a shot at #2. So, decided to follow a formal "diet" plan and found "The 4 Day Diet" by Ian K Smith at Borders. I read it, got mentally prepped, did all the shopping, and started it on Friday as a final push.
Not so successful. It's a restrictive eating, low/mid calorie plan that requires a good amount of exercise (daily calorie intake anywhere from 650 to 1100/40 min cardio daily). I've been surprise that I've actually followed it, almost to the T. I've even tried the 2 TBL Psyllium Husk Powder in water/lemonade (which sounds scary, looks disgusting, but doesn't taste bad). This extra fiber is supposed to help in this cleansing phase but, really, I'm just bloated and feeling puffy. I have MAYBE lost 2 lbs but, unless something drastically changes by tonight, I don't think any major changes will show by my weigh-in and measurements tomorrow; I may even have GAINED inches in the waist due to the bloating. *Sigh* I think I'm not so smart.
Oh well. I needed to be more focused through the entire seven weeks; work, vacation, family celebrations, and just plain summer obviously took priority over this little competition. A couple of weeks ago, I was down 8.5 lbs and 6 inches; as of a few days ago, two of the gals have lost over 20#, one heavier than I/one lighter, so they've got the %%%. But you know what, I'll TAKE my losses, and keep pressing forward!
Not so sure about that Psyllium Husk Powder ... I'm now the proud owner of a BIG bottle ..... any takers???
