My Curves coach surprised us all by starting the Jillian Michaels' routine yesterday instead of on the 15th when she originally planned to. Either way I was pumped!!
Ok, so the gist of the program is that Jillian is giving you exercises that you would typically do on your 'cardio' stations/boards. So instead of the jogging in place or whatnot, you would do the exercises that Jillian presents. Now since most of us are on the Curves Smart program it will most likely take us time to get the timing down. Luckily, the video has Jillian do the exercises twice in a row so if you are doing your resistance machines during the first 30 seconds, you have the second 30 seconds to actually complete the exercise. Again, getting the timing down will be tricky since you must stay on your resistance machines for a minimum of 30 seconds. This however encouraged me to move from station to station as quickly as possible and kept my heart rate up.
Jillian's exercise included: Jumping Jacks, High Knees, Butt Kicks, Lunges, Squats, Planks, Obliques, Standing Crunches, Push Ups, and the Skater Move. (I'm sure I'm missing a couple). In the video, she also provides modifications so nearly every fitness level can benefit from the program.
I can honestly say that m heart rate was through the roof and I worked up a great sweat. I can't wait to see the differences in my fitness level at the end of this month. When her new workout comes out in a month, I'll do a new review. So far I'm impressed and thankful that Curves is showing some initiative in bringing us new incentives and ways for us not to plateau.
I believe that this is a great addition to Curves!!
