Still nurssing the bad ankle

Every time I think the ankle is getting better, it will start twinging. I am keeping it elevated as much as I can. I am going to try and use resistance bands today to get at least a little bit of a workout.

Meantime I am staying on the Spark and I have lost 2 lbs this week. I am getting in 64 oz or more of water daily

Can't walk for exercise for a few days ARGGGGH!!!

Somehow I managed to twist my ankle and really can't walk for exercise for a few days. I am hoping that by Wed. when hubby has his surgery I can get back to walking. I hope to get some mileage in while he is in surgery (about 2 hrs they think). I will have my music with me and with the a/c I should be able to get some walking in. Meantime I may try and use the indoor bike for exercise.

Today we have switched from Spelenda to a more natural sweet -agave nectar. Straight from the bottle it tastes like a mild honey. I just had it in my tea and thought it was nice. Supposedly it is better for us then the other types of sweetener.

    I saw you're blog title and it caught my eye as I am carrying a sore foot for about 2 weeks now. Very frustrating as I am used to doing 5kms every 2nd day!So now I am doing a lot of stationary exercise from Sparkpeople videos, and it certainly helps. emoticon

    I know how you feel, I hurt my thigh on Wednesday and it has curtailed some of my exercise. I'm doing what I can but I miss being able to walk more than a few feet at a time without pain. Oh well, it will heal and I'll get back on track.

  I definitely agree with "quietcupoftea"! Make sure you don't start walking too soon, before your ankle is ready. You will only aggravate your injury and lengthen your healing time. Good advice to try some non-weight bearing exercises. Good luck with that and heal well!

    i hope your foot heals soon. please don't rush back into walking though. the tendons need time to heal and strengthen. i wonder if doing some non weight bearing floor exercises (check out SP videos for ideas) would be helpful in the interim. best of luck to you & your husband - i hope his surgery goes well! emoticon

Second day back on the Spark

Yesterday I did pretty good with tracking food and exercise and i am getting back into the routine of the Spark. I figure until hubby is home from surgery on Wed if I can just get into the habit of logging in daily and doing a few things I will still be making progress.

    Taking small steps daily is the key. Logging onto SP and tracking your food and exercise helps keep you accountable.

Back on the Spark

For the last month I have been on the road and just gave up on the program. I am back and since the next few months are relatively calm I hope to stay on the program.

Hubby is having surgery on Wed,, but I am bringing my own food and a large water bottle so I can avoid buying junk food at the hospital.

    Congratulations on the motivation to come back! I think I a lot of people who strays for a month or more will let the guilt trip convince them that it is way too much trouble to get back into the swing of things. Sounds like you are on the right track. Hope your husband's surgery is a success and he recovers in record time.

    Hello, I can relate to your post. I've been off and on 3 times, maybe 4. I had an account and I wasn't very active, so I deleted it yesterday and started this one. I am trying to stay motivated and focused.

This morning for breakfast I treated myself to 2 nice big fresh bagels for breakfast. It sent my bloos sugar to over 200. Guess who is having a diet milk shake for lunch and will be doing more housework to pay for that mistake. It is back to English muffins again

    Bagels are a rare treat for me. They are just too much, but still a nice treat. I occasionally buy a bag of mini bagels to get that fix in.

    Oh, sorry to hear that. I love bagels, but I like those fresh big fat ones with lots of cream cheese. So for now I will opt not to have them.
