Had to buy a smaller size in shorts

Friday, May 07, 2010

this morning I went to get some shorts for my vacation. I was tired of having to hitch up my shorts wound up going one size down. They are just a marginally snug, but by the time we leave in two weeks they should fit perfectly.

I recently had to shop for shorts myself. It feels good. I gave my older shorts to my husband and he wears them for pj's now. Keep up the good work.

Still sticking with the program

Tuesday, May 04, 2010

I have found that I am getting much better about tracking my food and making sure I get my exercise in. I find when I am tempted to not do the program I think how good I feel when the measuring tape shows that I am still losing inches. And the fact I am cutting out meds and cutting back on the meds I still have to take.

right now I am trying to figure out a plan for the trips coming up. the first trip is to a bird convention and the hostess is an executive chef, so I am sure that I am going to be challenged. Then the trip to FL will be challenging also. The two things I am planning on doing is keeping my water bottle handy. then while in FL we always go to a seafood restaurant that has the best catfish. Traditionally they fry it. the last time we wnet there I asked to have it broiled and it was FANTASTIC so I plan on doing that again.

I think that is great that you are planning ahead. It will make a big difference. The water bottle is a great idea, too.

When DH and I went on retreat a couple of weeks ago all the meals were provided by the hotel where we were staying. Serving myself from the buffets each meal, I visualized the portion sizes I'd used at home. For the sit down dinner, same visualization but since the food was already on my plate I cut everything in half except the salads. This kept me from going overboard and I actually lost weight when I checked on Monday. And honestly, 5 months ago I would have been diving head first into some of those steam trays but been sorry later.

Remember to visualize yourself with that measuring tape getting smaller and smaller and using less & less medications . And have fun! emoticon

You will do fine. Keeping that water bottle with you is going to be a big thing. You could also keep a little notepad with you to jot down your food.

Less Than 3 weeks to vacation and the 2 goals I have for that time

Monday, May 03, 2010

We leave for Charleston SC on 4/21 and then on to FL. I have two goals to accomplish before we go.

1) Try and lose another inch off my waist. My scale is not budging but the measuring tape shows that I have gotten another inch off my waist.

2) To finish weaving a summer top and get it sewn up so I can wear it.

The second goal will also help with the first. If I am weaving I am not eating. Also I can do a modified crunch when I am weaving if I pay attention to my body movements.

Sounds awesome. I'm just now recuped from my 2week vacation that I returned from over a week ago. I was thinking of coming by after I finish my big cleanup project. Say next week some day? You sound like you're doing great! I hope to see you before you leave! emoticon

Good luck, you have a plan that will make it happen. Multitasking, crunches and weaving, I know I would mess that up big time.

I get to get off of one of my major medications!

Friday, April 30, 2010

I got a call from my doctor's office and I can get off of one of the types of insulin I have been taking for almost a year! And I can cut back on the other inject able insulin. It is making me feel that all the walking and monitoring my food intake is worth it! Not only can I cut back on the shots I have to give myselkf, but I will be saving about $40 a month on my meds..

Getting back to the Spark

Thursday, April 29, 2010

For the last few days I have only been doing about50% of the program, but I am going to try and get back to my cardio workouts. If it warms up I will probably take the dog for a nice walk in the sunshine

Good luck on getting your cardio in. I am trying to get my exercise in too. I am going to try to do the eliptical again today, day #2. It seems like such a small thing day 2, but I know if I can get back consistently I can make it a habit.
