VERY TIRED, BUT A GOOD TIRED

Saturday, March 27, 2010

Very long day today with Spring cleaning at church. Got home and needed to do my Week 2, C25K walk/run. I had pretty much been standing all day working inside and outside the church, and my feet were complaining. So I started to make an excuse for not doing my walk/run, but the guilt took over and I went outside and got started. I'm so glad I did. I felt so much better, including my feet, after I got done. So from now on, I'll hopefully remember this instance and push on when I think I'm too tired to try.

Good job! We've got a work day at my church in about two weeks and I'm looking forward to it, too! It always feels good to help make the Lord's house look better.

READY FOR THE WEEKEND

Friday, March 26, 2010

Weekend is full for me. We have a Spring cleaning scheduled at our church Saturday morning (inside and outside), so morning will be full til about two. Then, since we're starting so early at church, the afternoon will be devoted to working out and getting things together for Sunday. So needless to say, a full weekend. The good thing is I've got the energy, due to improving my lifestyle (food-wise and exercise-wise). So thanks SP and all the spark-friends who are helping me along my way. We're going to make it!

Don't forget that spring cleaning counts as exercise! I think ours is scheduled for the 2nd week of April at our church. I will have to remember to check it out!

Have a great weekend!

I Don't Care If It Is Raining

Thursday, March 25, 2010

Got up this morning and the rain that wasn't suppose to be here til the afternoon decided to get on in here this morning. I had planned to do my C25K workout outside. Since I started doing it outside, I can't stand the thought of having to do it inside in the basement. Anyway, it was raining, lightly, and I told my husband I was still going outside for my workout. Two minutes into the warm-up walk the rain stopped, had a little wind, but no rain; and by the time for the cool-down walk the sun was shining. God is so good.

So, I've completed my W2D5 and will have my second time of Week 2 finished Saturday and will move on to Week 3 next week. I'm a little apprehensive about the additional running time, but hey I'd have told you, you were crazy if you'd told me a couple months ago I'd be able to run for a minute and half without stopping!

So rain you're not going to keep me from enjoying the great outdoors every time you come around and body you're learning how to run a little bit at a time!

Nice to hear that you still went out into the rain. It is so much better then being inside. Rain or shine outside is so much better. emoticon emoticon

Thank You Lady Bug Team Members

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

I've received several notes/emails/etc., from our Spring challenge team members thanking my co-leaders and me for our time and motivation we've shown them. I just have to say that you guys are the reason we're able to do our part. Working with this group of Sparksters is great. This group is there for each other to encourage and push, not just in the challenge areas but also when any of us hit other snags or need questions answered. So, to all the LADY BUG team members, thank you for your participation, your blogs, your emails and your team spirit. Glad we're in this together.

IMPROVEMENT EACH TIME

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

Completed W2D4 (repeating week 2) of the C25K today. I can tell my lungs are getting better at handling the running intervals. Being able to move this way is so foreign to me. It's not Ms. Speedy, but it's good and I'm enjoying it. That's important. To find something to do, not just because it's healthy, but because you enjoy doing it. Also, when I get my stamina built up I can run some with two of my grandchildren (a grandson and a granddaughter) who participate in cross-country track. I won't be as fast as them (my grandson is like a gazelle when he runs, it really is beautiful watching him) but I can get out there with them and it will give something for us to do together.

So I will continue to improve one day at a time an enjoy the benefits as they arise!

Great blog taken from excellent experience. You've found one of the best groups available (C25K) groups available on this site for those who want to try running. The ability to repeat weeks is perfect and makes this group so much less itimidating! I can so appreciate this blog because you have outlined what this group's approach is and how you have used the program....and shown how you can repeat and what the results mean to you.

Kudos for taking the time to talk about your approach...hopefully more will join whose body will allow them to but who have been intimidated by the word "run" in the past!

This is spreading the spark within Spark at its finest!

Have a glass half full day!

Nan
