WEEK SO FAR SO GOOD

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Goals I set for the week are moving along well. I'm really feeling the pushups in my arms this week. After finishing the pushup challenge portion in one of my Spark Teams, some of us decided to carry on through the remainder of 5% challenge (May 1st). Well hopefully it will help with the "waving bye" part of my arms! emoticon Actually I've really felt good this week, especially after my workouts. This is one habit I'll be happy to have!

Everybody keep up the good work and remember one day at a time!

GOT THROUGH W2D1

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

I repeated Week 1 last week because I was still doing pretty heavy breathing at the end and thought I would benefit. I did. Got W2D1 done today (after freaking when I couldn't get the Ullrey podcast, but then was able to get Chubby Jones'). It went really well, got through all intervals and my breathing wasn't too bad at the end at all. PROGRESS!!

I never thought I'd be able to do this. I know I'm just starting, but this is so not me. I'm actually jogging/running for longer than a few seconds (I mean that literally).

The first time I read about KARVY09 on SP, I thought I wonder if I could do that. I've always envied the ability of those who could run. I don't mean the Speedy Gonzales, but people who were able to jog/run for long periods of time and complete various distances.

I had never heard of the C25K until I saw it on SP (after all, physical activity sites weren't accessed all that often, like never). When I saw the C25K team, I thought I can try this. Now, I'm thinking I CAN DO THIS! It's an unbelievable feeling. I think I like it!.

I am envious. I do a little jogging during my cardio workout and I get horrible shin splints. I would love to run a distance but it seems so difficult and I feel so jiggly even with my weight loss. Good for you! emoticon

I think I might like to try this too, I have made it one of my fitness goals to be able to jog/run longer by the end of summer. The C25K program would probably really help with that.

MONDAY SUCCESS

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Achieved workout goal set for Monday! Stayed within calorie range! A good day in all.

Starting this week, I'm setting up my workouts for the coming week on Sunday. This makes it easier, I see what I need to do and can follow through rather than playing it by ear each day. Making things easier leaves less chance to make an excuse for not doing it.

So, with a good start to the week, I plan to see it continue. Tomorrow includes the C25K starting week 2. Yes I can, yes I can, yes I can........

I am always amazed how much easier it is to follow a routine if I make a plan in advance, don't know why I don't do it all the time. Keep sticking to your plan!!!

READY FOR A NEW WEEK

Sunday, March 14, 2010

I'm ready to push more this next week with my workouts. Schedule looks like this:

Mon & Thurs Morning - Lower Body Strength Training 30-40 mins
Tues & Fri Morning - Upper Body Strength Training 30-40 mins
Mon - Sat Morning - Core Strength Training 30 mins
Tues, Thurs & Sat Evening - C25K Training 30 mins
Mon, Wed & Fri Evening - Walk It Out or Outside Walking 60 mins
Mon - Sat Morning - Wii Cardio 30-45 mins
Sunday Rest

I'll adjust to include our challenges from our Lady Bugs Team. This is an increase of 30-45 minutes most days. It won't all be done in large increments, after all those 10 minutes workouts are super. But this is time I'm devoting to me for me. But as I improve my health, those around me will benefit too.

So, here's to next week!

Dragging

Saturday, March 13, 2010

I am dragging today. Got very little if any sleep last night (puppy dog was in overdrive). Had a 4 hour seminar at church this morning, grandson's birthday party this afternoon and now sitting down, I don't think I can get back up. LOL

Did eat well and got some exercise in (not as much as I'd have liked) but did get it done. Now, need to make sure all the clocks are set up an hour and I'm gong to hit the hay. Sleep well my friends and have a blessed Sunday!
