OK folks, I have a new goal. To get that flab on my hips not to make it's banging (flapping) noise when I do the running interval for the C25K! emoticon

I did my Week 1 Day 3 today and as I was into the first interval, I thought that has got to go. Well, with the workouts (in addition to the C25K) and my healthy lifestyle building in eating, this is a very doable goal. And I thought I only needed to worry about those thighs rubbing together.

Any old way, thought you could use a good laugh for the weekend. WE WILL SUCCEED!!!

I promise I feel like a new kid at school wanting to make sure my ponytails are even and my sneakers pristine. We start our Spring 5% challenge tomorrow and I am so looking forward to it. JHOGUE, our fearless leader, that got all this ready and setup for all the teams, even had to set up more teams because we had so many respond. We're going to have a slew of Sparksters marching across America in a variety of ways. So stayed tune, I know many of us will be letting everybody know what a time we're having.

On another front, I'm getting ready for Day 3 of Week 1 on the C25K. I really want to make sure I allow my body the time to acclimate, so as of now, I'm going to plan on spending two weeks at each level (more if needed). A little slower, but I'm more confident that it will pay off in the long-term.

So these are my new starts, good luck to all of you venturing new starts this Spring. Can't wait to start seeing our results!!!!

If you are as new to running as I am, the extra time is gonna help :) I agree, however long it takes is fine with me! I am going to sign up for the Race For the Cure in my area in June, but if I have to walk some of it, I walk. I'll get there...and so will you!!

Go emoticon! We can do this!!

Ahhhh Week 1 Day 2 Complete

Thursday, March 04, 2010

and it actually seemed a little easier than Day 1. Hope it continues this way. It amazes me, let alone anyone else, that I am running the intervals. I know this is just the beginning, but that's what it actually is for me......A beginning to get fit and healthy and be able to enjoy more activities and feel better.

Here's to Day 3 Saturday!

Nice work!! I'm enjoying myself as well. So as not to overdo it, I am going to do week 1 for another week. Have a great Day 3!! emoticon

You have a great attitude - keep up the good work. The workouts do get easier, but there will still be days of highs and lows. The good thing is that your attitude will get you through. Focus on the small goals as they add up to the big ones. emoticon

I just realized, this year instead of wanting a new dress for Easter, I am actually going to NEED one. I get all excited just thinking about that. Not getting the dress, but the need. At weigh-in last Friday, I dropped below 250. I cannot honestly tell you the last time I was there.

While I'm tickled to death (can tell I'm from the South can't you) with the number on the scale. I'm even more happy about how I'm feeling. I feel GOOD! Yeah I get sore (sometimes alot) after some of my workouts, but it eventually goes away and I have so much more energy.

I've taken up enabling myself to run by joining in the Couch to 5K and am so looking forward to participating in my first 5K as a runner. Have walked in one before, but to actually run will be achievement of a very personal goal.

Anyway, just wanted to share a little of my SPARK today. I know I'll need to borrow off somebody else's sometime.

Awesome!!! emoticon Getting to buy a smaller size is such a great reward!!! And also congratulations on even walking a 5k...I've let it intimidate me for so long. But I've signed myself up for a few this year and my ultimate goal is to be able to complete the Los Angeles Marathon next year...even if it is walking. Keep up the good work!

Today has been a BLAST! Sounds funny coming from an almost 50 year old, but there's no other description.

First, got list of members for our Lady Bugs Team for the Spring 2010 5% Challenge. Sent out invites, many quickly responded and are as excited as we leaders are for the fun and weight lose these next 8 weeks. It's like starting a new school year when we were kids and being nervous but looking forward to making new friends

Second, started the Couch to 5K week 1 day 1. WHEW, this flabby body made it through the whole thing. Winded, yes. Sore, a little. Ecstatic that I'm on my way, YOU BET!!

The camaraderie (virtual or in person) here at SP is fantastic. We all have our goals (weight and non-weight), but everyone is so great at offering encouragement, a kick in the hiney if needed, and a place to vent or celebrate. I'm glad I made the decision to come here!!

you hit the nail directly on the head.. that's EXACTLY what it feels like lol .. anxious to meet new people, and hoping you won't let your "schoolmates" down.. and not knowing what's in store for you from the teacher lol ;)
