Time to Get This Horse Back In Gear

Well I slacked off on my workouts during May and it showed. So, it's time to get this horse back into training. I printed off the 30 Day Activity calendar and am going to add each day's activity to my regular routine for an extra boost and a change of pace. If the day's activity is not available to me, I'll improvise with one of the other day's.

Another goal for this month is that at least 30 minutes/5-6 days per week of cardio will be either running, walking, or cycling. On 2 to 3 days a week an additional 15 to 30 minutes of some other cardio will be completed. Strength training will be 30 minutes at least 3 days a week.

As for food and tracking, this is going pretty well.

I have two challenges that I'm participating in that end July 3rd/4th. So I've got five weeks to do some major hiney kicking. So here's to a great start to summer.

    Sounds good to me! Not too overwhelming...consistency is the key!

I have the Activity calendar too...but you'll see...you're probably doing a lot of the things already...so give yourself a emoticonon those days. You deserve it!

House For Sale

Well, we decided to do it. We're going to put our home up for sale. It's way larger than we need now and we could do with a lot lower payment. So now the fun starts with deep cleaning and then keeping it ready for showing at a moment's notice. Hopefully, although the housing market is still not rebounded completely, it's in a great location so we're hoping it will sell within a decent amount of time. Say a prayer for us!

More Changes

Since being out of work since December, I've had few occasions to wear dress pants (wear dresses for church normally). The last time was around the first of March. Well, last week I needed to wear dress pants to a meeting. I go to the closet and pull out my favorite pair and I kid you not, they fell straight to the floor they were so big. So I pull out another pair and then a third pair, all the same result. Finally I find a pair that will stay up, but still noticeably larger than what I needed, but we needed to get on our way so I wore them. When we returned that evening, I went through the rest of the few other dress pants I had. Finally I found one pair, size 18, that fits ok in the waist but really loose in the legs, but they'll do, since they are now the ONLY pair I have.

I started my running program in March and I can definitely see the changes. I use to have to buy pants to fit my legs and deal with the waist being a little big, now I'm getting more balanced! It feels so good. So when God does bless me with a new job, I'm going to have to do some shopping!

    I loved this blog and had to laugh..what a problem to have! (Hopefully you can go to a consignment store or a discount store and find a couple more pairs for the "in between" stages though. Congratulations!

Straighten Back Up

This has been a rough week. Exercise was on the lame most of the week. I did track and stay in my calorie range, but...

I have really been doing well with keeping from the emotional eating, but this week I did catch myself resorting to it. I saw it for what it was and stopped before it got out of hand, but it really bothered me that it happened in the first place. After, being frustrated for a while and fussing at myself, I realized there was a good thing from it. I stopped. I didn't let it control me. I stopped and got back on track. Before I would have started and not stopped til I was so full I was almost sick. But I stopped. I am making progress.

    I don't think we ever really get rid of the emotional eating thing. We just learn how to control it. So, under the circumstances, you did the best thing you could - you recognized it and stopped. Excellent job!!

    Ya know what? You're still here! I so admire and appreciate your dedication to the Lady bugs. I think being a team leader is a huge job, and could easily add stress to ones days. You're doing a great job! emoticon

    Sometimes food itself can be ( like a sin ) we know which ones we should NOT do, but sometimes there are things or people out there that are trying to bring us to the bottom of the pit. We all have those emotions. . . ( I say anyone who says they don't, is lying ) so don't be mad at yourself that it happened and you should be so proud that you were able to put the "sins" in their place. GREAT job

Time to Concentrate on Me

I've read several blogs today about struggles various SP friends have or are going through. Some I could so relate to such as job loss (first time unemployed since started working more than 30 years ago), family crisis, money crunch, etc.

However, I've taken this time to really concentrate on me. In between job searches and interviews, I've been able to devote a lot of time to setting a really good foundation for these lifestyle changes.

Because of this I've lost just over 45 lbs since January. My blood pressure is so normal I can't believe it. Not just normal but really good, average 108/64. I can run, something I've always wanted to do (not speedy, but working on it). I feel good.

So, if asked in an interview what I've been doing with my time while looking for work, I'm going to tell them I've been working on me. Hey, it will show I can evaluate the opportunity and outline a strategy to achieve the outcome desired. So, maybe not only is SP helping on my lifestyle changes, but it may end up helping me land a new job!

    Great job on your weight loss. I'll pray that you get a job soon. My husband went without work for almost 6 months last year and that was very stressful on us. Hopefully you can find one soon.
