Good Sunday

Sunday, April 11, 2010

We had wonderful church services today. Amazing, how God knows when you need that special song or message. I'm being sarcastic because God always knows, but I'm so thankful he does.

I'm ready for a new week and new opportunities. There's a job listing I hadn't pursued because I was waiting on word from the one I got the rejection letter from yesterday. So now, I'm going to check it out tomorrow. I know God's got it all together, but I, being the wonderful human I am (more sarcasm), get impatience sometimes. The right job will come along, I just need to pay attention.

I guess this is going to be my "thankful" blog. Those of you who've read many of my blogs, know I brag on my husband a lot. Well one of the reasons is, after being divorced, I "sorta" gave God a checklist of what my husband would have to be like if I married again. When I met my now husband and we started talking, he was talking about himself, his son, his family and church life and I was just sitting there thinking "God did you go through my checklist, before you let him come here." He met every criteria I had asked God for in a husband. So forgive me if you get tired of hearing me brag on him, but I am so grateful I finally waited on God's input. Oh, by the way, he's not perfect, but neither am I.

Have a great week everybody!

I know what you're talking about when you mention those specific services. Sometimes the message seems like it's pointed right at you and is addressing something you've been dealing with. Lets us know that God is always listening and always cares. I too am one that struggles with patience. We just have to remember that God doesn't give us anything we can't handle. I just wish he didn't trust me so much sometimes! Have a great day and continue enjoy all of life's blessings.. emoticon

Day is Done

Saturday, April 10, 2010

OK, I try to make my blogs upbeat so I'll talk my negative first and end on a positive note.

W4D3 didn't go well today. It was really hard and I did more walking than running. I don't know if it was the heat, the pollen or what. Anyway, I'm gong to repeat Week 4 next week to make sure I build up my stamina. And I'm not going to beat myself up because I did really well Day 1&2. I CAN DO IT!

I got a rejection letter in the mail for a job I interviewed for a few weeks ago. I really thought it went well and was hoping for a more positive outcome. I'll keep pushing forward.

OK, enough negative. On a positive note, my husband has started walking with me every evening and I really am enjoying it (I believe he does too, at least he said he does). I lost 5 lbs this week. And last but not least, I am feeling so much stronger.

So come next week, I'll continue Week 4 of the C25K, I'll do some more job hunting and I'll stay on my calorie/workout plan.

Keep me in your prayers please!

The way I have started thinking about life is more and more, just thinking about God. I think that ALL te things that happen in our lives are lessons from God. We sometimes don't realize there may be a benefit or an answer to our grieves from God. So just keep your head up. The way you ended your blog was AWESOME. Stay Motivated!!!!!!!!!!!!

A New Decade

Friday, April 09, 2010

I entered a new decade today. I entered into the 230's today.

I've always been heavy except for about three years when I was a teen and maybe about three years in my twenties. I've been well over 200 lbs the rest of the time (mainly 260-280) reaching my highest weight of 318 in 2006.

When I decided it was time to get serious about my health on January 9th of this year I was at 275 lbs. I'd gotten down to just over 260 lbs when I came back to SP on the 29th of that month. So to be in my new decade is unbelievable!

One of the many important things I've learned here on SP, is you have to eat to lose. For several weeks I was eating only enough to hit the low end of my calorie range. I read a SP article about making sure you update your calorie needs when you change your fitness routine. Well I'd been hovering in the same couple pounds range for several weeks although I'd increased my cardio considerably. Well duh, I go in and update my activity and it gives me calories with the lower range just under 200 more calories a day. After a full week at this new range (staying pretty much in the low to mid) I started dropping again. You know that saying "when all else fails, read the directions". emoticon

I'm glad to revisit this decade which I don't remember the last time visiting, but am looking forward even more to that next decade, the 220's. Maybe by the end of our 5% 2010 Challenge????? I'll try!

I am glad to hear you are doing well. Our weight and storys are close mirrors of each other except that I am starting this change at my high point which is 317. Keep up the good work and remember this is not a diet but a lifestyle change.

Getting Healthy Feels Good

Thursday, April 08, 2010

Last week and this week have really shown me what a change I'm already experiencing from the changes I've made since January. It hasn't all come easily, but it has been well worth it.

Changes:

Went from not being able to climb a flight of stairs without getting winded to this week completing the Week 4 C25K intervals of two 3 and two 5 minute runs

Went from not being able to do yard work for more than 15 or 20 minutes without getting winded or extremely fatigued to working in the yard for several hours

Went from feeling blah and tired most days to feeling energetic and happy most days

Went from being disgusted with where I'd let myself get to health-wise to starting to like myself

I'm looking forward to more positive changes in the future. This trip may be time-consuming and hard sometimes, but as I said before, I believe it's well worth it!
