Figured out how to remind myself to hydrate! It's so easy. . . .

It finally dawned on me how to make sure I drink enough water each day. I created 2 more snack times - one for mid-morning, one for mid-afternoon, one for evening. First thing each morning, when adding breakfast items, I add 2 cups of water to Breakfast & Lunch & Dinner & 1 cup of H2O to each snack for a total goal of 9 cups daily. emoticon

Now each time I add an item to my food tracker, I see the water I should be drinking. A great reminder! & it makes sure my water intake is spread out over the day. Maybe this will help someone who may be having trouble getting their water into their day. emoticon

    Good plan! You might also try keeping a container of water with you at all times. This will serve as a continual reminder to drink your water!

Yea for the weather break! But, we still need rain desperately. emoticon

I had a tough day food-wise yesterday. Maybe it partly had to do with all those days of high heat, but also hubby took 3 days of vacation, so he was home from Tues until next Monday. I did ok until Friday. Itís pizza & movie night at our house for years. I do usually try a lot of the tricks like lots of veggies, make my own crust, precooking the turkey pepperoni (but donít tell hubby that itís turkey pepperoni or he wonít eat it). He doesn't like beans or tuna either. sigh!

I tried hard to stick to my food plan, but he had other ideas for food choices and wanted to order pizza, I like to please him. emoticon

Anyway, when I ran a trial report, I saw I was way over on sodium, calories, etc. So I adjusted dinner and snacks to help offset it, but the damage was done. The really neat thing about it all is that I could use those handy dandy Spark tools to see where I was going wrong ahead of time. Before my 20 days with SparkPeople, I would have just given up in a funk having that awful feeling of having failed or having to start over. I would have known I was over on calories and fat, but I would have had no idea that sodium was out of the ball park. Now I know it's just one day. I can pick up the next day with what I learned and go on from there. Thank you SparkGuy for your wonderful idea, I'm very grateful, You are emoticon

Looking forward to getting back to a workweek routine on Monday.

The loudest clap of thunder I ever heard at 11 a.m. today. My heart jumped & I yelled. WoW. It got very black & windy. We need the rain but didn't get much. ANYHOW, it made me think about what I might eat if the power went out. There's always canned tuna or a peanut butter sandwich, apples, grapes & bananas, so I guess that's ok. Oh, & good ol' H2O. :)

Well, busy day with out of the house chores: grocery day, bank, etc. AND it is hot -even hotter tomorrow. So looking for easy, cool food. My favorite is chopped salad; some sugar-free jello, or a power packed smoothie. Also emoticon & frozen emoticon

Other ideas?

    I, too, go for fruits (bananas, apples, raisins, etc.), yogurts, smoothies (healthy ones); peanut butter sandwiches, or with crackers, and tuna fish sandwiches (bread, or crackers). I live in the midwest and we are supposed to have one of our hottest days tomorrow, also; with a high humidity. So, I already have my A/C turned back on, after a few somewhat cooler days. It was still hot; just not as hot as it has been. My grass is begging for water!
