The top 5 things that motivate me to continue my journey are:
1) My son
2) Spark people
3) My body bugg
4) My fiance (he tries)
5) My dogs (because they want to go for a walk, though they hate jogging!?!?!)

    I love the bodybugg, I just have to watch because I get additicted to seeing how many calories I can burn in a day!!! The most I have burned is 4500 calories in a day!! Expensive but if you think of all the money you are saving in the long run by getting healthy, it pays for itself. (By not needing as many doctors visits, meds, and etc.)

I just jogged 1.3 miles straight for the first time in my entire life!!! I just kept yelling myself just one more stopsign, or one more corner. I was out of breath when I was done, but after walking a couple of minutes I felt like I could do it again! (I just don't want to over do it, so I called it a night since I have exercised today for over 2hours total). Right now I feel like I am on the greatest high of my life!!! I just want to scream and shout!!! I DID IT!!!! I can do anything!!!

I have always been overweight and even had joined track in high school and could never jog more than a quarter of a mile. Since November I have lost 32 pounds, am eating right, and exercising. I know if I had never stumbled across sparkpeople I would not be able to say this. I just want to thank sparkpeople, the competitions I have and am currently in, and everyone who I have met on here for helping me to work toward my goals! THANK YOU!!!!!

P.s. The best part is that I haven't even tapped into a quarter of the strength of my body!! Just image what I can do when I reach my full potential! Look out world, cause here I come.

Plucking along

Since the beginning of November I have been watching what I eat, exercise when I can, and making sure I eat according to the food pyramid. I am very close to having lost 30 pounds, and was thinking that I was doing great, until yesterday.

Yesterday I went to my niece's birthday party and say my sister for the first time since New Years. In the beginning of December she started to watch what she eats and has lost 68 pounds since then and looks great!!!!! You could start to tell around New Years that she was losing weight, but now she looks wonderful! Here I sit having only lost 28 pounds and still feel and look fat! :(( I am happy that she looks great, but now I just feel like I must not be doing a good job at changing my lifestyle. I just feel so depressed now!

I know that I cannot give up, and just hope that venting my feelings will help me to get over these feelings.

    I agree with Halosun...28 lbs is amazing!!! Do not let yourself be discouraged at all...you are doing awesome!!

Slow and steady will win this weight loss race...you want this to be a life change not a fast change that will all come back!!

    Excuse me... but "only 28 lbs" is AMAZING! Your sister must be some freak of nature to have lost 68 lbs in two months. 28 lbs for three months is absolutely incredible! That's a little over two lbs a week, which is a healthy weight loss. Do not feel discouraged - this isn't a race and the only person's progress that matters is yours. Keep up the incredible work!

My first walk/ jog

I just got back from my first walk/jog and I feel like I am going to die!!! Lol!!! I could have kept going ( body wasn't hurting at all) but I kept running out of air!! Now that i am back in the house I can't seem to be able to breath. I think I might have frozen my lungs ( I live in the up and it was snowing when I was outside) !!! Oh well, overall I feel great that I was able to walk/jog 3.9 miles in one hour!!!
Ps my chiuauawa made it 1.3 miles then I had to drop her off at home, then my Jack Russel only made it 2.6 miles before I had to drag her, so I dropped her off and did the rest myself.
