1. Nutrition. Plan my meals daily and commit to my meal plan. Post EVERYTHING on my nutrtion tracker or write it in my food journal

2. H2O. 64 oz. minimum, more if I am spending time outdoors. NO soda!

3. Exercise. Re-join the YMCA and sign up for swimming lessons. Do at least 30 minutes of exercise a day, every day!

4. Validation. Size 16 casual pants. I can pull them on but not button or zip them. No more too tight clothes!


I am too young to look and feel this old :(

I took a really good look at myself in the mirror. I am going to be 40 (someday) and I really feel that I am looking older than that. In my mind I am in my early 20's but my body tells me something different. When I wake in the morning I feel tired and achy and I want my body to match my mind.

I have been gaining weight for months even with eating right and exercising and though it is frustrating, I can not quit. I need to stick with my program and with Spark People no matter how long it takes to reach my goals.

    Hang in there! You can do it. You have can be strong and committed and you are going to find that balance. Tale it one day at a time. I just turned 31 and I other than the lines and wrinkles, I too do not feel that 31. But there are days when I feel like I should be 70!! I know there are going to be days where we as women feel run down with commitments from work, family, friends and just life. But we can over come them! YOU CAN! Hope your having a much better day today.

Happy Monday!!

I am a receptionist and part of my job is to greet customers/employees as they enter the building. I know Monday is not everyones favorite day of the week, but I try to keep a postive outlook.

Monday is the start of the work week for me, the 'top of the week'. Monday is a time to reflect on all that I got accomplished over the weekend, remember the fun and also a time to set goals for the week.

This week my goals are to take a walk every day at lunch, give my all to my Spark teams and not let the scale discourage me. I can manage this with a smile as I tell everyone, "Happy Monday"!!

After two weekends of Spring cleaning, it looks as if I have not done anything. I measured myself today and I have gone up an inch and a half in two places. Do I get discouraged? Do I run to the pantry? NO!!

I am in this for the long term. A co-worker commented that it looks as if I have lost weight. That was such a nice compliment!! I feel like I have lost weight and more importantly I feel healthier.

    Congratulations!! As long as you get back up and face the demon, a little bit of set backs and restarts are expected and normal. The ones that fail are only the ones that don't get back up. Whoo Hoo!!! WTG girl!

    The wonders of an elastic measuring tape. I tend not to believe the on certain occasions ... same with the scale.

Believe what people tell you because they are the mirror of life.

If you are looking good ... people will tell you to your face.

When you are looking bad or have gained weight ... people will talk behind your back.

I had a similar comment from a coworker today m'self. It can be discouraging when it takes longer than you want it to take.

But at least it's happening. :)

I'd say Happy Spring except I think it's about 35 degrees outside right now.

Portable tracking and snacking

I have not had time to track my food and exercise online, so I got a calorie counting book, a pocket folder and a notebook to help me keep track. I printed out the nutrition sheets and will write down everything I eat, and all the exercise I do. It would be nice to have a laptop that I could take everywhere, but this will work for now. I will still try to track my food and exercise online, but now I have a backup plan!!

For some reason, I feel like snacking today. I pre-measured all my food for today, and I am within my ranges. I am going to the gym tonight, and will go for a walk at lunch.

This will be a great day!
