Sick family and I am an apple : (

Friday, January 25, 2008

Tim and Robert have fevers, and while that stresses me out, I am going to make a plan on how to deal with this. I will NOT overeat, and use food as a crutch. I worked out at the gym last night and completed the circuit and did 45 minutes on the elliptical trainer. I felt great after, and want to continue feeling great every day.

I read an article on obesity here and I know that I am obese. I also found out that my shape is an apple which is very unhealthy. Being obese can lead to high blood pressure and diabetes, and I do not want to follow in my parents footsteps.

I deserve to be fit and healthy and my family needs me to be a good role model and to be able to take care of them. I have plenty to motivate me to stay on track, so I will not get off track today!

ok, fellow Austin music lover, you've got to know how funny your blog title is. Sick family and an apple, huh? I expected to see that an apple a day keeps the doctor away, but I was way off. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to your family, and best wishes to you for a journey to healthiness. HUGS

Happy Birthday Tim

Wednesday, January 09, 2008

Tim's surprise party went well and I did well on my portions. It will be great when I get to the point where I don't have to actually think about what I am eating and can naturally just make the right choices. I do notice that I am not craving as much and my appetite is getting back under control.

I have been measuring my food and trying to track everything I eat. I am going to print out some sheets for the weekend when it is hard for me to log on so I will be prepared.

Happy birthday Tim! Get ready for the new me in 2008!

Weekend worries

Friday, January 04, 2008

I have been doing so well for over a week and now I am worried about the weekend. I am hosting a surprise b-day party for DH and there will be a lot of good food and cake. I plan on preparing some healthy food and will try to linit my intake of the not so healthy offerings.

New Beginnings (again)

Friday, March 23, 2007

I am ready to admit that I have let myself get off track. I can't remember the last time I have stepped on a scale or tracked my food or exercise. This is not where I want to be. I never totally gave up, just stopped trying so hard for a while. I will not make excuses, or get angry with myself. I am a grown woman, and I know what I have to do.

I will start slow, and drink 8 glasses of water every day for the next week. I will exercise at least three days this week. I will measure my food portions, and track my food. This will be a good start for a new beginning!

Good to have you back on track!! That's what is so wonderful about choosing a new healthy lifestyle as opposed to "dieting"!! You can take a break, but it's alwasy good to get back on your program and know that you are doing what you need to do to be healthy!! You go girl!!!

That a girl . . . slow and steady she goes! We have all been where you are from time to time, but the important fact is that you have realized you need to do an about face and get back on track. For that I commend you!!

Looking forward to seeing you active again and best wishes on your "renewed" healthy journey.

Blessings ~ Linda
