Plateau or not a Plateau

I just switched up my Spark Coach program to the plateau busting option. By strick definition of the phrase I'm not really in a plateau but my weight loss has slowed somewhat. I realize that sounds a bit impatient but I think I can learn a lot from changing how I am look at this journey. Just like the recommendation to change up your fitness routine so that your body doesn't adapt, I want to change up my thinking so I don't stall out.

Pounds are coming off.

I finally feel focused.

I'm always "on a diet." Always "trying to lose weight." I can't tell you how many "last meals before the diet" that I've eaten. I also can't tell you why I do this to myself because I don't know.

But, somehow I finally started making changes and I'm sticking to it. Sure, I cheat a little but I know that I'm making the decision and not just letting it happen to me. I actually contemplate some of the old bad habits and make the choice to stick to the program.( Old me would have been eating the McDonald drive through chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate before I even realized what I had done!)

I am in charge of ME!

At work today I found the following in an email sender's signature:

"Failure is only a temporary change in direction to set you straight for your next success. Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly."

I don't know who to give credit for the quote so I apologize to whomever you are. But thanks for the great food for thought. (If you know who it is, let me know)

I read it once and thought "that's good." I read it again and thought "talk about a swift kick in the rear." Third reading and I knew it was speaking directly to me. If I want success in any part of my life, I can't just hope or wait for it to happen. I can't just sit back because I'm timid or chicken. I have to step out of my comfort zone and make things happen.

I feel challenged! Do you?

Tomorrow is my anniversary. 26 years of marriage to my husband and best friend. Where has the time gone? He accepts me as I am and always wants the best for me. He knows how hard I struggle with my weight issues and loves me just as much as the day we married...maybe even more. He is my support and I love he very much.

I'm a team leader

Today I agreed to be a team leader! I'm excited and a little apprehensive all at once. I want to motivate others and myself to be the best we can be, to put ourselves first so we can be better for those who count on us. I don't know if I have anything special to give but I'm sure going to give it my best!
