A Little Discouraged, but Keeping My Eyes on the Lord!!!

Friday, March 20, 2009

I am a little discouraged this week. With an iron deficiency, my energy level has been so low! I am taking supplements to get my iron up and hoping that by Monday I will be able to get going again... in the meantime, I just feel so blah!!! The other medication they gave me also makes me feel nauseated... sigh...

A new friend at Conservative Christian Ladies Tea Time put this verse up, "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31 So today, I am just keeping my eyes on the Lord. I will get done what I get done today, and if I don't... I am just not going to worry about it!

My college kids come home today for a week-long spring break... I look forward to seeing them!!!

    And as my daughter reminded me one morning, "Eagles have BIG wings." Aren't we glad the verse doesn't say, "mount up with wings as sparrows"! emoticon

    emoticonI'm often reminded that God does not set our schedules, we do. We more often than not allow ourselves to become over scheduled...and weariness sets in!
If your body is not getting enough oxygen b/c of low iron levels, then it's just not up to your normal activities right now. So rest...and allow time for your body to heal & your strength to rebuild. Even our Lord saw need to "go up into the hills" to rest. It's part of the cycle.
Enjoy this week with your children...and maybe even let them carry a little more of the work load. . emoticonOur love for each other deepens when we give ourselves in service to each other. Allow Them the Opportunity for a Blessing this week :0).

  You say: I'can't do it
God says: You can do all things
Phil: 4;13

I pray healing and rest to your body. And that you will feel refreshed and enjoy the week with your children.

    I love that verse. Just remember not to beat yourself up when you don't reach every single goal you set for yourself. God gives us grace, but sometimes we forget to give ourselves a little too. Blessings!

Looking forward to a new week!

Saturday, March 14, 2009

After a very looooong week of some more sickness in our home and a health concern of my own that kept me from exercising as much as I like... I am really looking forward to a new week! I will rest a lot tomorrow on Sunday and hopefully be up and going early on Monday!!

I did have fun playing football with my boys today... and it made me smile to see that David put on his Facebook that he had fun playing football with me and Joseph! What great memories for all of us!

Tough Weekend... New Week!!!

Monday, March 09, 2009

This past weekend was really tough.

* I went to Wisconsin for my daughter to have oral surgery and drove her back home the same day. (3 1/2 hour drive one way)
* I was sick.
* We had a missionary family come over Saturday and Sunday.
* Joseph had a piano festival to play for on Saturday.

Between being sick and being BUSY...

* I didn't have time to exercise.
* There were LOTS of more goodies sitting around the house with company...

SOOO... although it was a tough weekend with no exercise... I still kept the 2 pounds I lost over the week... and I am now starting to feel better!!! I did eat some of the goodies, but then ate less other good for me food... which wasn't good...

I did get to take a short walk tonight, and tomorrow I have GOT to start eating right again! I don't like to go to bed hungry!!

Half Pound lost after a VERY Long Plateau

Tuesday, March 03, 2009

WOW... I finally lost a half a pound, and though it seems sooo small, I am rejoicing!!! It was so discouraging day after day seeing no results! (almost 2 weeks) BUT, I kept working on both my food intake and my exercise regardless of the scale! I feel like I have won a very hard battle! YAY emoticon

Facebook Pictures...

Saturday, February 28, 2009

A wonderful friend of mine saw a picture of herself on Facebook and exclaimed how fat she looked... ya know, I never looked at her 'fat'... I always looked at her as a wonderful friend who was a lot of fun! Interesting how we think that outward beauty is sooo important, but personally, inward beauty is SOOO much more important!! We may want to be fit and look skinny, and work so hard to change THAT... yet, miss out on working on the inner qualities that are so much more important!
