Life: A Balancing Act!!!

Life is so busy with so many things these days! We have work schedules, school schedules, sports schedules, church activities, etc... and to fit in the time to feed a family healthy and time to fit in fitness... WOW.. it would take a magic act I think some days!!!

So, each day I look at what is absolutely necessary and what can slide... and unfortunately, may times, exercise was the one thing that almost always got pushed aside!

Creativity is a necessity to getting all things to fit in! When my kids were little, I actually exercised using them as my weights. When they got bigger, I would walk while they road bikes or rollerbladed to the park. And now that they have grown, I think it is even harder... since I don't have the excuse to take the kids out to get their exercise!!

BUT, I am determined to keep going and stay healthy!! I just have to DO IT!!! The key is to look early in the morning at all that has to be done and when... and then... WORK IT IN!

Well... for not losing weight the past week... I finally lost a pound over the past two days... I sure needed that extra boost! Although I am feeling good about what I am doing... it is nice to see some results on the scales finally!! YAY!!!

Sundays are such busy days for me... and I don't have time to think much about what I am eating... sigh... I usually mess up a lot! Then, I feel like half my week is working at losing what I gained on that one day!!! Today I am working hard to keep from doing that again!

I was a little excited, although the scale is not showing big weight losses... my church clothes fit MUCH looser today... I was shocked! I have been exercising around an hour a day (more or less depending on the day's schedule) and I have not been losing as much as I thought I should by what the scales say! I think I may need to get the tape measure out!!!!


No losses this week... but feeling good... so that is what is important!!!

Although I haven't lost weight this week, I feel good from eating right and exercising, and that is what is the most important!!! I am tempted to get discouraged, but when I look at the whole picture of how I felt before because of my food intake and lack of exercise... I am pretty content!! Next week is a new week, and I am sure I will see some losses coming soon!!!

This is a popular theme for a lot of things... but it really relates to proper nutrition and exercise! We lose the fat little by little, and lose it inch by inch... but only as we are faithful and keep focused!!! WE CAN DO THIS!!!

    I've only been on this site a little while (2 weeks), but I agree with this philosphy. That's why it scared me a bit today to learn that I lost 7 pounds this week! However, on this site I also learned that it is normal in the beginning to lose more weight, but that I should 'Continue to monitor myself over the next few weeks' and 'if my wt loss does NOT slow to 1-2 pounds weekly, I should then increase calorie intake.' This was posted somewhere on this site (I'm not good at remembering where I found this) by "Becky, Your SP Registered Dietitian".
