Life is FULL OF CHOICES!!! READ THIS about picking the right ones...

Tuesday, February 03, 2009

Part of life is learning to choose between one thing or another. Every day we each make hundreds of choices! Everything from what time we get up, what we will wear, what we cook, what we eat, whether we exercise or not, etc...

Some things that we choose are between right and wrong... usually these are easy to discern between, although we may not do the right thing every time, we usually learn much from such choices!

Some things that we choose between is what is good and what is best... usually these are the hardest to discern and they usually don't hurt us as much as the previous type of choices... Deciding what time to get up in relation to what time I should get up... deciding what food to eat - a white pancake with syrup or a whole wheat toast with low sugar jam... deciding to shorten an exercise time because I feel a little tired today...

WOW... when you think about all these choices... it makes you want to roll over and go back to sleep... forget about getting up today!!! Well... that is until your stomach starts to growl!!! Can I do Eenie Meenie Minee Moe??? NOT!!!

Each day, I need to look at all of these choices, and choose what is BEST, not just what seems good or convenient!!! What is best for me and my health? What is best for me and my future? What am I teaching my children about the choices I make each day??? So much rests on our every day decisions!

SOOO.... we need to jump on board and say... We CAN do this and then think about each choice and pick the BEST!!!

Super Bowl Woes...

Monday, February 02, 2009

Well, I ate too much last night... and I ate late as well... I didn't eat the hotdogs my family ate, I made a panini (made out of multigrain bread) for me, which is better in nutrition... I didn't eat but about 4 chips, YAY... but... I ate a doughnut AND a brownie... I love sweets... they are my biggest downfall!

So I already walked for an hour this morning, and will do some strength training tonight to compensate! It was a rough weekend with so many things going on!! I really need to get going again!

Buffets... sigh...

Sunday, February 01, 2009

What do ya do at a buffet??? I usually avoid them, but when someone has a party for someone else there... what can I do??? We went last night to Ryan's after 6:30. I ate too much (although not as much as I would have if my stomach had not shrunk, I got full faster) and with it being so late... sigh...

I always feel at buffets like I need to get my money's worth... I don't know how to get out of that... especially when you KNOW you paid 10.00 for the meal!!!

This is a new week... I can't look back...

I haven't been to a buffet yet, one of those things I am trying to avoid. What I would hope to do is go for the soup and salad first.
Isn't funny how our minds work. Go to a buffet, spend $10 and you want to eat as much as you can to get your money's worth. Then go to another restaurant and the soup is $5, the salad is $7, the entree is $20, and the dessert is $8, yet we never think about getting our money's worth.

Well, I went to a Tastefully Simple party last night... and didn't do so well. I didn't eat supper thinking that the calories I ate there would be my supper calories... but... I definitely ate more than I should have, and more than I usually have for a supper meal... sigh...

I named my sparkle page Faithful and Determined, because it is going to take special determination to get over these kinds of humps... I just need to learn moderation in everything!

Keep on Keeping on...

A little discouraged...

Friday, January 30, 2009

Well, I exercised the past two days 75 min. each day and both days I gained a half a pound... my eating stayed the same and I had been losing...

I understand that I might be building muscle, but it seems with what I had been losing I should at least stay the same and not GAIN...

Maybe I should only weigh once a week... I will have to give that more thought!

I am determined though... and refuse to give up...

I will only allow myself on the scale once a week to avoid that emotional roller coaster of going up and down, up and down a pound or so.
Such weight fluctuations are perfectly normal, no matter how you work out or what you eat. It could be something salty you ate yesterday! emoticon
I weigh every Sunday morning,
buck a** naked,
after peeing.
That is a more accurate measure of progress than day to day weighing.
I can't wait until Sunday morning!

I think that when you exercise really hard, your muscles hold on to water to "repair" themselves....or something like that....(lol). I think you should CONTINUE to exercise like you are, but weigh in less often...usually after your body has had some time to recuperate.

Just my opinion!
