Playtime = Exercise

Sunday, January 09, 2011

My 2 yr old granddaughter spent the night. So, this morning was play time with her. It was so fun watching her play with her doll that we gave her at Christmas. My son said it is her favorite toy right now and goes everywhere with her. My "exercise" today was keeping up with her -- going up and down stairs, getting up from the floor. We had fun. Her mom picked her up at lunchtime.

Those are such sweet times! Isn't it fun to watch the little Mommies? My 6-yr old Gd put her baby doll on the phone with me yesterday--" you want to talk to your great-grandma?". (huh?? When did I become a GG??). But she's got the Mommy routine down pat!

Music & Exercise

Friday, January 07, 2011

I was supposed to have one daycare boy today, but they called and he was sick. So, I had the day off! I decided to go to the gym this morning. (I didn't think I would be able to today because of daycare.) I had a good time exercising while listening to Dennis Jernigan and Happenin' Hymns Vol 1&2. It sure made the time go by fast and I went 1/2 mile farther on the elliptical than I did yesterday.

Afterwards, I did a few errands and went to Wal-Mart and got a new pair of exercise pants.

This afternoon, I sparked, then quilted on my daughter's quilt.

Tonight my granddaughter is here for an overnight. It was so fun watching her play. She brought her doll which I gave her at Christmas. My son said it is her favorite toy now.

PS. I love exercising to uplifting music too. I am still in the dark ages and walk with a CD player, but years of my good music are on cds! emoticon don't want to pay to buy them on itunes...

Thurs Workout

Friday, January 07, 2011

I worked tonight at the gym. I got there at 8:00 and did another hour workout. I have a little routine now--10 min elliptical to warm up, then 15-25 min strength training, then back to the elliptical for @30 min. It was nice tonight because it was less crowded than it was yesterday afternoon.

woo! Great job at meeting your goals you have checked off!!
I'm on a lower-carb diet right now too...but not low carb. I still allow myself complex carbs, just minimal amounts of white flour, white rice etc. I only eat the white flour/pasta or rice if my husband makes it for supper before I get home. It's working well for me right now. I've also tried to cut out sweets and replace with fruit.

1st Gym Workout/January's Goals

Thursday, January 06, 2011

This morning I had an equipment orientation at Balance Fitness. The lady who was the owner, was very nice and made me feel comfortable. Then this afternoon I came back and did an hour workout. I did upper body weight machines for 25 min and then the elliptical for 35 min. It was strange and I felt a little out of place, but I did enjoy it.

I enjoyed and needed the accountability I did in Nov and Dec of daily checking up on monthly goals. So these are my Jan. goals and the ones met for today Wed 1/5 checked

LOL - I just read your goals, and that last one is a whopper - I, too, have at least 10 years of photos to take out of those sticky-backed photo albums and put onto acid-free paper albums, but it seems to take me 10 years just to do that. Congrats on your recent lose!

I have been waiting to see what your goals are, especially the spiritual goals. What book are you reading on the names of God? I want to read more this year and that sounds like a good one to get.

Ten years of pictures into albums is a big project. Had you already started doing that?

You are doing great on your weight loss. Keep up the good work.

Great set of goals too! Just be careful how low you go on the carbs... remember they are your brain's ONLY source of energy! (don't wanna end up like my mother-in-law!) emoticon

I had a Bible In A Year that I followed last year -- I LOVED it because it was sO simple - you just picked it up and read each day's entry. THIS year though I am doing a "plan" and using my regular disciples Bible - and I like this too because I have all the notes right there in the Bible to consult. Either way, reading through the Bible each year is a great practice and just does wonders to help us grow in His Word! Blessings ... on ALL your efforts this year! emoticon
