This morning I was able to take off the bandage on my knee/leg. It had gone from the top of my knee to my toes. Boy, was it nice to take off!!! I also was able to shower for the first time since before my surgery. I think I ended up taking almost a 30 minute shower! AHHHHH!!!!
My knee is still very swollen. It hurts to bend and I can't put much pressure on it. The dr said to only do what I can tolerate. If it hurts -- don't do it. Sounds like a good plan to me. I won't start physical therapy until next Saturday.
One good thing, I got on the scale this morning -- I've lost 3 lbs!! I won't change my ticker though until I have an "official" weigh in at TOPS. I don't know whether I will get there this week or not. Mainly because I can't drive for awhile.
Thanks again for all the well wishes, prayers and goodies from all my Spark Friend!!

My knee surgery was yesterday and the doctor repaired two places where the meniscus was torn. He also said there were signs of wear and will probably have to have a knee replacement in 10-15 years.
I had a rough time last night. I couldn't keep anything down and I was very lightheaded. The last pain med (Vicodin) I took was at 6:15 pm. I woke up at 1:00am drank some water and promptly threw it up. Since I wasn't hurting I decided not to take the Vicodin. At 4:00 am after I had dry heaves I took Compazine for nausea and Ecotrin for my splitting headache. I decided I wasn't going to take Vicodin again since I wasn't hurting and both Vicodin and Compazine side effects was dizziness. This morning I took some Motrin for my headache since that is the only thing hurting right now. I was able to keep down some jello.
I am still pretty exhausted - I think I will go lay down now. I just wanted to get an update to all my wonderful SparkFriends! Thank you for your prayers

The last 3 days I have spent canning apricots. The yield = 14 qts, 37 pts jam. I made plain apricot jam, apricot blueberry, apricot raspberry and Splenda apricot, Splenda Apricot Blueberry jam. I was on my feet solid for 3 days. My feet and knee are killing me. I plan on soaking my feet tonight in a vanilla foot bath!
Last night instead of going to bed early, I ended up cleaning house and making beds until 12:00 (started at 10:30). The mission team from Stand True (the mission organization my daughter went with at the beginning of the summer) came in at 3:00AM. They originally were going to be here Tues evening, then changed to Wed mid-morning. I was going to clean etc Wed am, but their plans changed and they called late Tues night and said they would be driving though and get to our house at 4:00am. I was able to go to bed and sleep-- my daughter woke up for them and showed them their rooms.
It is fun to be able to get to know the people she served with.
Because of all these things I haven't been able to do my oxycise the last couple of days, but I am glad to report that I lost .75 pounds last night at TOPS weigh-in!! I am not sure how much exercise I will get this next week, because Stand True is here until Sun, then I will be picking peaches from Dad's tree and have to get them worked up before my surgery next week.
I do know, however, I will get a 2 mile walk in on Saturday as the Colorado Christian Women Spark Team is meeting at my house for a hike and picnic. I'm excited to meet some Spark Friends!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday (Sat) I was up at 4:00 am , got ready and headed to my father's house. When I got there just before 7:00 everyone was still sleeping. So, I started picking apricots on the first tree. Finished that around 8:00. By then, my two other sisters had arrived and everybody was waking up. So, from 8:00-3:00, we worked on sorting, packing and cleaning Dad's bedroom and bathroom. Also, we picked the other apricot tree. I also cleaned out Dad's chest freezer and brought home raspberries, blueberries and blackberries dated 2000-2008. So, guess what I will be doing this week?? Yep, canning! I need to have it done by Tues, because I have houseguests coming Tues night.
Oh...and now I am off to head back up to Dad's to help my sister pack. Even though they still are still having bitter feelings (and struggling with hateful thoughts as my sister said), I want to show them that I love them and let Christ's love shine through me. And this is one way I can...since I will be unable to help them move this week.
I am staying focused on my eating and exercising. I can do the Oxycise Commuter routine in the car! Plus, carrying boxes etc is good weight training

Well I saw my primary doctor yesterday. The MRI confirmed his diagnosis of a torn meniscus. I saw the orthopedic surgeon today. He said that not only do I have a torn meniscus, but some wear and tear on the cartilage on the patella next to the thigh bone. Also, the tendon on the inner side of the knee is strained, probably because of the way I have been walking favoring my knee.
The surgery is scheduled for Wed, Aug 4. I am going to stay consistent and focused on eating healthy and doing what exercise I can.
Also, an update on dad's house - his renter backed out, so there is not the stress of having to move him out by the 31st. I still don't know what will happen there, but with my surgery coming up I won't be able to do anything.
