Staying focused!

Friday, October 23, 2009

I am doing the Biggest Loser Cardio Max. I am glad I'm not as sore as I was on Monday. I have completed a week of exercising everyday!
Now the hard part is staying focused over the weekend - that is usually my downfall. My goal this weekend is to try to exercise at least once and still log in what I eat.

emoticon for working every day for a week!

I usually start the week out great, but by the end of the week, I can't seem to muster the energy. The weekends are somehow a little better for me because I'm not working, but by about Thursday, I am struggling to get much in, especially cardio.

I think I'll go take a walk! Wish you could join me!

Carrie, you did well! I commend you for sticking with your exercise goal for the week. emoticon emoticon

Maybe try doing a different kind of exercise? Take a walk with your husband or kids? grandkids? instead of doing the tape. Walking around at the mall or grocery store counts. Even WalMart! Exercise can be something done in the company of others; just don't tell them that's what they're doning! LOL

Have A Great Weekend!!

Exercise weight Gain?

Thursday, October 22, 2009

I've been diligent this week. Exercising 30 minutes a day, drinking 8 cups of water each day and being careful of what I eat--staying in my calorie range. And what happens? I am up 2 pounds today. But, I won't get discouraged - I will still exercise this afternoon. Stay focused! Don't give up which I have before.

Carrie, Keep doing what you know are the right things not matter what the scale says. It's not the only measuring tool to use. Are your close loser, do you feel energized? are you more relaxed? how are you sleeping? All of these things count on the way to a healthy you! I'm glad to hear you're going to presist any way and not quit! I'll be praying for your peace of mind!

Well, actually muscle DOES weigh more than fat, but a lot of our weight fluctuation has to do with what time of the month it is, maybe some water retention, or some mysterious thing. My weight fluctuates a lot, but if over the long run it is slowly going down, I am still happy -- and at this point when I am basically maintaining my wieght, those ups and downs I pretty much ignore unless the up is too much!

Even though the scale says what it says. How do you feel? Do you have more energy? Are you feeling healthier? Are you feeling happier? The scale is only a very small part of becoming healthy. Hang in there and keep up the great work.

Sorry, but that is a myth about the muscle the muscle weighing more than fat. HOWEVER, there are many things that can affect the scale, water retention is a big one. If it close to ttom or if you had a lot of salt. It sounds like you have a good handle on it, positive. And, hey, if you never lost another lb would you want to go back to your old way of eating? I figure I am going for healthy so if I don't lose as fast as I would like at least the journey is good for me.

All of the above, plus extra encouragement - this happened to me several times, and you just have to persist. Don't give up!

You can do it!
