Exercise weight Gain?

Thursday, October 22, 2009

I've been diligent this week. Exercising 30 minutes a day, drinking 8 cups of water each day and being careful of what I eat--staying in my calorie range. And what happens? I am up 2 pounds today. But, I won't get discouraged - I will still exercise this afternoon. Stay focused! Don't give up which I have before.

Carrie, Keep doing what you know are the right things not matter what the scale says. It's not the only measuring tool to use. Are your close loser, do you feel energized? are you more relaxed? how are you sleeping? All of these things count on the way to a healthy you! I'm glad to hear you're going to presist any way and not quit! I'll be praying for your peace of mind!

Well, actually muscle DOES weigh more than fat, but a lot of our weight fluctuation has to do with what time of the month it is, maybe some water retention, or some mysterious thing. My weight fluctuates a lot, but if over the long run it is slowly going down, I am still happy -- and at this point when I am basically maintaining my wieght, those ups and downs I pretty much ignore unless the up is too much!

Even though the scale says what it says. How do you feel? Do you have more energy? Are you feeling healthier? Are you feeling happier? The scale is only a very small part of becoming healthy. Hang in there and keep up the great work.

Sorry, but that is a myth about the muscle the muscle weighing more than fat. HOWEVER, there are many things that can affect the scale, water retention is a big one. If it close to ttom or if you had a lot of salt. It sounds like you have a good handle on it, positive. And, hey, if you never lost another lb would you want to go back to your old way of eating? I figure I am going for healthy so if I don't lose as fast as I would like at least the journey is good for me.

All of the above, plus extra encouragement - this happened to me several times, and you just have to persist. Don't give up!

You can do it!

Alone is hard to accomplish anything but together anything is achievable. Hi, by the way and I also need to lose 100 pounds and I am recently new too. This is a great site with all the right tools we only have to use them. Everyone is so supportive here and I like the feedback they give. My first real adventure here is to walk across the United States. Stop by my page and check out the earth travelers team and maybe join us for the adventure. By the way Welcome to Sparkpeople
