Intervals

Friday, October 24, 2014

I had time so this morning I did an additional 10 minutes on the elliptical because I wanted to finish the book I was reading. The kids were picked up early, so I headed to the gym. I was going to work out on the stationary bike, but decided to do the arc trainer. I haven't been on it since before my knee surgery in Feb. I did 40 minutes of intervals on it. What a good workout!

I worked on getting my sewing room cleaned up this morning. Then I made and sewed a binding on the Colorado Cabins quilt. Now I just need to hand sew it down.

My sister called this morning to let me know that the African Girls Rescue Center needs five more quilts. She has two ready to be quilted and is working on another one. I will try to get another one made. She will get me her three to quilt. I need to have these done by Thanksgiving.

I need to it down and figure out what sewing projects need to be done for Christmas which is only two months away!

I had to google arc trainer, as I haven't seen one. Looks interesting and supposed to be better than elliptical. You are one busy lady with all your sewing projects. Good fiber day too!

Kilt Done

Thursday, October 23, 2014

I wasn't hungry at lunch again today, but I did have half an apple and 1 T almond butter.

I finished the kilt today. Plus I made a sash for our pastor's wife and another small sash for his daughter from the leftover tartan fabric.

Way to go, Carrie! I can't figure why you are not hungry at lunch time, though. Maybe you are just so distracted with the kilt and all, you didn't think about it? Whatever the case, glad you had that apple! You are doing soooo great! Moving right along on your journey to a healthy life!! Have a super day, my friend! (((HUGS)))

No Lunch

Wednesday, October 22, 2014

I wasn't hungry at lunch so I didn't eat anything. I know, not a good idea, but I I kept busy and didn't snack. Therefore I didn't reach my fiber goal, however, I did get 32 grams of fiber today.

I am making the kilt for our pastor. He is Irish and has always wanted a kilt. He will be doing a monologue on John Knox on Nov 2 and will be wearing his kilt then. I am almost finished with it. I just have to finish the lining and final pressing. Since what I had to do today on it involved my steam iron, I waited to work on it until nap time.

Therefore, this morning I worked on plans for Christmas quilted runners. In my mom's fabric stash she had quite a few pre-printed fabrics to make Christmas pillows. I am sure she was planning on making them to give to my sisters and her grandchildren. I am going to use them plus some other quilt blocks to make runners to give to everyone. I want to make each one different. I need to make 18 (one will be for me).

I also started looking at what other gifts I need to make for Christmas.

You're doing fine, Carrie! You know what might be nice is a pic of the Pastor in his new kilt!
Sorry you didn't sneak in lunch, but stuff happens and since you didn't replace it with an unhealthy snack, then kudos to you!
You sure stay busy!! I wish I even had the talent to make some gifts, but alas.....I missed that boat!
Keep up the fantastic work! Coming right along towards your goal!!
Have a most excellent day!! (((HUGS)))

I am sure you were ok with the amount of fiber you did eat. Sometimes I do not feel like eating either. Nice to feel that way. I am sure your pastor will be very happy with his kilt.

32 grams of fiber is still an excellent amount! You will be busy sewing over the next few weeks. Have a great time doing it! emoticon

You are so smart to carve out special time to work on that kilt! I don't know that I'd have the smarts to actually do that! (I'm not much of a seamstress either!) hehe
Way to go on staying focused, too!! You Can do this and are DOING it!!!
Keep up the fantastic work, Carrie!! You are my hero!! (((HUGS)))
