I am doing great. BP is final down and constant. WooHoo!!!!!

I start my gastric Bypass journey. I had my 1st appt with the MD then I go to psych DR on Monday and the nutrienist in two weeks.

I was told I did not have to lose if I did that would be great however I am not expected to gain. This is do-a-ble emoticon

Spring Challenge has been a gift. I will lose 5% of my weight and be ready for the change of my life.

My mantra

I will not give up on myself. I am the only one that can make it happen for me with God's help . I have the power to succeed or fail.

I choose to succeed.

Great Week I am seeing results in Choosing to succeed

I am feeling much better BP 130/79 I got out today and helped clean the backyard. WooHoo!!!

I had a 2 pound weight loss. Life is great.

I choose to succeed Everyday

I went to the Dr I am battling high blood pressure. I visit the dr every other week. Went to visit today and I lost 6 pounds since 3/1 what a surprise to me. change.

I have been getting BP reading of 201/100,215/113. I am taking 4 BP meds and my pressure is now 160/98.

I have a great Dr. I must say and she explained she will lower my pressure with more meds but slowly.

I must admit I have been battling this for at least 10 years and I always took the meds for a few months, lost weight thinking my BP would go down when I thinner and that did not happen so I would eat over it.

Not this time being a sparker has helped me become accountable to Janet. So today I feel different I am going to do what I am told and take the drs advice.
uncontrolled BP, Chronic Kidney disease stage. This is the life I chose.

My mantra

I will not give up on myself. I am the only one that can make it happen for me with God's help . I have the power to succeed or fail.

I choose to succeed.

    emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon My DH lost 80 lbs and went from 3 blood pressure pills to none then gained25 back and is taking 1 aday ! emoticon Life is a choice and choices has consequinces ! I got a brother with copd now 56 dying from overweight and smoking but only he can chose what he wants for his life ! Being hooked to an oxygen tank isn't my choice because i make the wrong choices ! IF I CAN HELP YOU IN ANYWAY I AM HERE DAILY ! emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Choosing to succeed is the biggest step in the right direction. You will find that as you exercise and eat properly (especially watch the sodium!), your BP will come down. I used to take 2 BP meds and 1 for cholesterol. Since early January, I am completely off prescriptions! Thank God! It was getting expensive!

  It's wonderful to hear you say you will be responsible. I suggest you try some natural supplements that may help with blood pressure. I started using one from Life Force International called Body Balance. After using the product I was taken off of my bp meds. Exercise also helps to keep it under control as well.

Weight Progress: Go from 250 to 237.5 by 05/12/2012

My 5% goal: 12.5 pounds

Goal weight: 230 !!!

So with faith and adventure I start this path with joy and peace.

MY TRIGGER FOODS-SITUATIONS and What helps!!!!

MY TRIGGER FOODS:
Ice cream and my own baking. If it is in the house then I have a strong urge to eat some every day until it is gone. I try to keep yogurt on hand as a substitute but it always work. Right now there is no ice cream in the house. I hope to keep it that way.

I can pass on packaged baked good or those made with mixes, but not made from scratch.

MY TRIGGER SITUATIONS
1. Listening to others problems and not minding my business, want to help when I am not asked

2. pain and/or illness

3. Not looking at the glass half full

I've already set goals regarding this:
- Prayer,sparkling, read positive information and being grateful by creating a gratitude list daily.

What helps:
staying focused on what I am thinking, keeping my mind busy(word finds, and puzzles).
Be a listener and not a fixer if I am feeling I want to help give myself 24 hours before I offer.

I feel with this plan I will be very successfully.

    emoticonI also am a fixer ! emoticonOver the years i have caused myself sooooooo much stress ! Matter of fact i am in a mess right now because i knew my step daughter was going to lose her mobile home because of her health and not enough money coming in ! To make a long story short we helped her get into a handicap apartment that utilities are paid and is based on income. Got her mobile home sold but isn't moved out yet but when it is then everything worked out ok ! Hopefully next week ! PLEASE PRAY IT WILL HAPPEN SOON !     I took a great weight management class once, the teacher is featured in that book thin for life, he said " you will find one common thread amongst overweight people besides their weight, they are all caretakers. They take care of others because they haven't discovered they are worth being cared for" That was mind blowing to me, and once I started listening and not fixing everyone it got eaiser to care for me.

    Good tips. I have the same trigger foods. And I agree about the homemade baked goods. Store bought is definitely easy to pass up. I made chocolate chip cookies the other day. I ate way too many. I'll have to come up with things to do in situations where I want to overindulge. Maybe I could reorganize closets!

    I need to do this assignment. I know for sure that one of my trigger foods is ice cream. I can't keep it in the house. With the warmer weather coming, Dairy Queen is my challenge.

    I bake my own bread about once a month-- and it IS hard to resist--but I make a double batch, four loaves' worth of dough: one goes in the fridge (it lasts longer), and one becomes pizza crust for dinner for the next couple of days. Making my own pizza, I can have a "treat" and still avoid the usual no-no's, and my favorite is a "Margarita" pizza, with diced red and green bell peppers and tomatoes, in a light sauce and with a measured amount of shredded low-fat cheese.

The rest gets divided and frozen for later in the month: by parcelling it out that way, I can avoid the temptation to just scarf it. I have to THINK about my choice if I have to thaw it first! LOL Works for me...

I KNOW your plan will work for YOU, if you just stick with it.
