Change! Change! Not Money Either

Well you know that full time job that i thought I had well it did not happen. We have a person in the military and this position is now theirs. I am not upset. I am not surprised this is my life the way it happens. This is where I go with the flow and stop and listen to what is next in my life.

I was looking forward to the chance. However there must me another plan for me. I will wait it out in my part time job and see what is happening.

My food has been good. Exercise well I am doing my best. I am maintaining my weight. For now I am good with that.

I will have more time to spark and to be sparked.

    I just read your blog. when my brother died in oct suddenly I didnt know how id make it with this property and all but so far i have.Next week im gona see if i can sell his hand- cap van and get myself something better and he did leave me with a cushion. I am retired but the retirement isnt much. You know what im happy with it just the way i am. No more shopping sprees and eating out every time i turn around. I depended a little on my brother cause i was his care giver. The most important things are not things. I have good friends, things to keep me busy, church and most of all ihave GOD in my life. I love my life!!!!! emoticon emoticon

Reality Has Set In!!!

Good things are happening every moment. I was offered a full time job. Now I get to balance everyday. I believe it is better for me to work it keeps me on a schedule and I am always in the moment.

My DH who is retired has been great. He cooks and divides the foods in portions. He cleans and focus his attention on me to help me keep a balance in my new work day.

I gained 2 pounds I can not say I ate my way to the increase of my weight. I have been retaining at lot of fluids. So I have to keep a tab on my salt in take and and get rest. When I don't get enough rest my body holds on to water.

I gained weight on my summer challenge. I am not disappointed. I know I did my best and I will continue to be focus and forgive myself when I am not.

    Keep in mind too, m'dear, that weight is not the only measure of your success--the energy levels, overall well-being, AND that little thing called a tape measure--are just as important--and maybe MORE important--than pounds.

You have gained tremendously in personal confidence since you started... just read back on your own blogs and you can see it!

    Congratulations on getting a new job and I'm so happy for you that it will bring more balance to your life that will add so much value to your life and make life seem so much more simple and more enjoyable.

You are so blessed to have a hubby that supports your efforts so much and is willing to cook for you and divide it up so you are well prepared.

I'm glad you are keeping a positive attitude about the fluid retention; I'm on a doctor ordered high salt diet for my very low blood pressure and my weight and can really fluctuate at times. I hope you find a healthy balance of enjoying your salt and not keeping the fluid.

Why will I not stay focused? What is it about me that I am not being honest about?

These are questions that surfaced today. I do not want to lose anymore than 30 pounds. I do not want to be rushed to do that.

I am going to make some changes. I am going to start the SP food plan next week.

My high blood pressure is what is making me feel rushed to make changes or I die.

I want to believe that there is a power greater than myself. That will determined when it is my time.

I am still working full time balancing my life. I exercise a little 15 min walk if I am lucky.

I am at peace. I just check-in with myself to see what I need? what am I missing? How can I improve my life? how can I start and keep the spark?

Have I hurt or caused hurt today? Have tell my family and SP friends how much I appreciate them.

Have I showed love to me?

I am at peace thur all this self reflection

    You are very inspiring janet ,just do what your able to do.Ive always done that toI started out on a diet and i sabbatoged myself.I didnt understand it. This time im doing ok and keeping motivated.I have arthritis and it hurts when i first start out and i have to push myself but you have to just do the best you can GOD BLESS YOU janet.     Even baby steps show progress. What about increasing your walk from 15 minutes to 20 minutes this week? Nothing drastic, just a bit of change.

    Questions are always good Janet... its a positive thing.
Perhaps, set a small goal and focus on just that small goal. Your focus is your world. What you "see" is what you get :)
Simple as that, right?
I set small challenges for myself and I focus on the challenge and at the end, and only at the end, I look at the results of that challenge. But the focus is the challenge. I've been setting up 14-day challenges for myself. All are not physical challenges, some are simple household tasks, financial, intellectual... whatever. The main goal of it all is to focus, to be consciously aware of what I'm doing which creates better habits.
And questions are still a good thing. I love it.

    Self-awareness is great. Now you find away to change and you are doing it with small actions of exercising, changing your eating habits.

    You are right to be concerned about your blood pressure, with the kidney issues you have... are you tracking your sodium, potassium and phosphorus levels, and your water intake?

In our situation that is just as important as keeping the blood sugars and weight under control.

    Having a "system" in place is what yields results.
Stick to the plan. Make it work for you.
Journal when you start the SP menu and learn when you are physically hungry vs emotional eating.
You absolutely can (and WILL) do this!

    I'm so glad you are reflecting on your life and making sure you have balance and keep your peace.

I'm sorry you are struggling to go further in your weight loss, I know you are great at setting goals. I'm also glad you are staying committed to sticking with your journey, we still have 3 weeks left in this challenge and another one I'm sure will start soon so stay positive and you'll do great.

    I find it hard to work and exercise and one strategy that is working for me is that I go straight from work to the gym. If I went home first, I would never exercise. You will get there and you will find the answers! emoticon

    Many questions with many answers. On the exercise maybe add 5 minutes to make it a baby step forward. I think that many of us may just be tired from the long, hot summer. Don't set too many goals. Just work to accomplish one at a time. emoticon

Day 1 lifestyle Challenge

I am feeling much much better. My computer crashed yesterday so I was down. All day and part today.

I'm back. I started the xbox adventures where I burst bobbles with the movement of my body. This was fun.

I tracked my food. I wanted a milkyway fun bar unsalted crackers and cheedar cheese. I read the label and tracked it, and enjoyed it. No guilt I love this.

Work tomorrow I will prepare my breakfast and lunch. Walk the stairs
Meet with my friend Leslie to walk away the pounds.

Day 7 New lifestyle Challenge Everyday

I am having a hard time getting into a regular fitness routine it was suggested to me to us a pedometer that may help motivate me.

I did not make it to the gym this morning. I feel good with that. I am treating myself like my best friend and if my best did not make it to the gym I would support her anyway.

I am going to attach my pedometer and start there and I will continue with Leslie walk away the pounds.

I track my food and I am within my range.

Hoping to see DGD today. She is going back to college. This will make me happy.

All and all as I look back at my week it was Great!!!!

I LOVE this! I'm going to remember this. You're so right. We would support a friend in all their efforts. Why shouldn't we extend the same kindness to ourselves! :)

I like AMBERLEIGH's idea, too, about the Leslie Sansone walking videos. They're very nice. Very gentle. Very encouraging. I got the Start! Walking at Home DVD for my disabled DD, and she likes it.

    I like how you decided to treat yourself. I read something today that people who were told to aim for 10,000 steps a day versus walking 30 minutes a day did better because they became more active and the people who were told to exercise 30 minutes a day didn't always do it, so your friend may be on to something, I hope it works for you.
