2011 Summer 5% Challenge My 5K Your way assignment - I have not started Yet

Be careful what you ask for you may get it. My job is sponsoring a 5K in October and one of my co-workers have offered to run and train on occasion with me. I am excited and afraid at the same time.

I have a Dr's appointment on Thurs and my heart monitor is due to arrive that day also.

I get so excited that I am telling people what I am doing and they are excited for me.

Have I moved my body NO NO NO

I have not ......Today would be a great day to walk 15 with Leslie that will not kill me and that would make me feel so so good.

I am going to blog this part of my life This is something I want to bad however
I feel just as much fear.

Thank you all for your support I know I can not go without your time and attention.

Maybe one day I can blog on my run and this moment will be just a memory emoticon

    You are braver than you give yourself credit for. You can do the 5 K in October and having a partner to train with is great emoticon.
take her on her offer and make yourself and her accountable. Also remember it is one step at a time. I love walking with Leslie and I use the DVD whenever it is too hot or rainy outside. The fat burning 5 mile walk is a good one since you do a mile at a time and stop any time.
I have all the confidence in you that you will do well in that 5 K in October.

2011 Summer 5% Challenge 6 assignment - Day 4

I took a look at the diet plan, clean the fridge, made a grocery list and shop.

My DH has his stuff I am placing his food in his office. A way from the pantry.

I feel the commitment and motivation with my teamates here and it feels good.

I am a little tired and I am going to bed early.

2011 Summer 5% Challenge 4th assignment - Day 2

Lately I do not know I have a trigger food until I have ate my planned amount and then I want more. This can be with anything. As I think about it lately when this happens. I throw the food away, give it away not eating it for 6 months. I do not crave the food once I have made up my mind not to have it for 6 months.

I also realize if I don't have a protein and good carb in the AM. Some foods will appear to be a trigger more often.

Binge happen more often when I don't stay with the recommends food choices to keep me satisfied during my day. I eat from shear greed. I want what I want.
It has not been about emotions(it use to be) situations. Now I trust myself so when I make a decision I stay with that decision. If for some chance I do not stay with my choices it is ok and it is usually within Spark Nutrition so when I track I am good.

This has built my confidance up so much and I am less fearful of failing.

My strategy will be to record my food in Spark Nutrition I will be mindful of what I am eating. Make sure my food plan includes a protein and a good carb for breakfast. I will have a planned sweet snack. Lately this has been peanut butter and saltines or graham crackers and cream cheese.

I learned I have made great improvements. I am not as bad as I was 3-4 years ago. Four years ago I weight 269.5. This has been slow however I have made a lot of lifestyle changes.

    Bottle that self control and send me some.
Once I crave something the feeling won't go away until I have given in. Then I go work it off with an extra cardio session.

2011 Summer 5% Challenge 3rd assignment - Day 1

I would like to lose weight because I believe this will extend my life and prepare me for aging. I see people who age with grace are within there BMI. That is what I want.

I want to be as fit as a woman can be entering into the finial passage of her life.

What does this mean??

Gail Sheeney wrote a book about the passages we woman go thur. My passage is I am not a teenager I am a post menopause woman. In my senior year. This is the resting stage not the nesting stage. This is all positive and real for me. This reminds me to .....Handle With Care LOL

I do not want to feel my age. I want to feel like I am a teenager, at times I feel like that now. I hope as I include more fitness in my life I can feel this way more often.

I would also like to run a 5K at least once a year until ..............

My hope is to go back to school when I reach my weight goal.

I have done so much damage to my body that this is a full time job and take most of my day to prepare and change these habits that I have had for all my life. This takes my full attention.

I am blessed I can apply this time to just me.

I will not give up on myself. I am the

only one that can make it happen for

me with God's help . I have the power

to succeed or fail.

Choose to succeed.
