I just ate the best 300 calories of my life

Monday, June 25, 2012

I just made a 300 calorie shrimp Ciabatta sandwich. SOOO GOOD

Half a ciabatta roll
1&1/2 tsp of mayo
1/2 tsp dill
1/2 tsp granulated garlic
1/2 slice sharp cheddar cheese
3 ounce cooked bay shrimp

Mixed the shrimp mayo dill and garlic together. Spread on 1/2 roll top with 1/2 slice of cheese and toast in oven 5 mins. It was Amazing!!!!! I hate low cal mayo so I just used 1/2 a serving of the regular and it was great!!!!!!!!! It's really something when you can eat what you want but if you just measure the portions out you can eat a lower calorie content!!!!!!!!

Monday

Monday, June 25, 2012

Well, I worked at my job at the hospital last night. I haven't worked in 2 weeks. It was soooo hard. Well, not at the time cause I didn't feel it till I got home around midnight. It funny I've been working out almost everyday. I feel in good shape but working with 17 patients at the hospital for 8 hours is harder then any workout. I'm just sitting on the couch. I feel like my whole body is throbbing. Ok, most likely I will get called off today and I know I need to go to the gym around 2pm. It's going to be hard to get up but I know I will feel better after I do it.

The best Low Calorie Foods

Saturday, June 23, 2012

I was just thinking about the low calorie foods I love to eat and would love to hear other people's.
1.Strawberry's are on the top for me.
2. Cooked bay shrimp cold with cocktail sauce.
3. Grilled zuchini ( I use spray oil and grandulated garlic powder).
Hmmm.... I need some more ideas :)

Oh, yes. Mushrooms!!!!!!!!!! I have an allergy to egg whites. It's slight but if I eat without the yoke its so much greater. I think I'm going to stuff mushrooms tonight. I'm thinking of stuffing them with shredded zucchini parmesian maybe a little breadcrumbs

Fruits and veggies, egg whites, fish, vinegar. I like the "light" bread they sell at Stop And Shop. I usually get the Light Multigrain which is 35 calories per slice!

Interesting start to the weekend

Saturday, June 23, 2012

Well, worked on my online store all morning and then was expecting to work at the hospital for swing shift tonight and was called off. So switched gears and went to gym. Added 5 mins to my workout on treadmill. Was not into it going into the gym. Nice because hardly anyone was there. The young girl at the check in desk in a very perky voice said" Ready to workout?" I replied "No" and she laughed. I wasn't into it but did it and feel so much better. It's been a whole month and I feel in such better shape. I have achieved 25% of my weigh loss goal. It's been very hard this week not loosing weight and gaining a bit and loosing a bit. But I do feel better and that's what I'm trying to focus on.

It's good to be active even when we aren't really feeling it. (And I love how quiet the gym is Friday nights and Saturday afternoons. No waiting on machines at all.)

What a crazy week :)

Friday, June 22, 2012

Ok, it's been nuts. I have a up and down week. Gained some weight then lost it so now I'm back where I started at the beginning of the week. Had my youngest daughter's 18th birthday dinner at our house. Didn't decide it was going to happen till 1:30pm so it was a thrown together affair but everyone seemed to have a great time. My father in law brought over ribs. Wow, so he had made this on father's day as well. I ate one then. The next day I tracked it. WOW, one rib 695 Cals!!!!!!!!. I decided to pass on them last night. Not worth it. That's like enough calories for 1 1/2 meals. Ridiculous. I'm really glad I found that out. I made giant fruit salad again, Spinach salad tri tip, pasta and pesto. I didn't eat the pasta and had a very small piece of tri tip. Filled my plate with spinach and fruit. It was very nice. I feel like I'm back on track and much more educated about ribs :)

I really like the fact that I know where I am and what I can afford to risk because Spark people lets us track it. Who would have ever thunk 695 cal. for a rib! You made good choices.
