So off for a couple of days

Monday, September 17, 2012

Ok, I'm a bit of a mess eating wise. I started off ok yesterday. Did not record my breakfast and then it was downhill after that. I have been taking a vacation from exercise for three days too. Today it's back to work on myself :) I even ate after work ( midnight) last night. Today, I feel like I'm ready to loose the rest of my weight. Worked all weekend did not plan what I was eating and that probably was the biggest problem. I got off work at 11:30pm and was soo hungry I went to taco bell. Not good. But I feel inspired today. Maybe I needed a break to help me go forward. I do feel good :)

The challenge of the day

Friday, September 14, 2012

So, got workout done yesterday. Doing one again today. Morning workout. Around 10am. Today's challenge is I'm going to our county Fair. Yeah, haven't been to the fair in years but I'm worried about my eating there. My favorite thing in the world is french Fried Artichoke hearts. It's my thing. Trying to think how I can have a few and not the whole thing. Also thinking I should eat first before going at 5pm. Well, that's the plan

If you plan for this indulgence, you should be able to enjoy it. One episode of eating something not on your plan won't destroy the plan--it's when we give up on a plan and just eat fried goodies all the time. Enjoy the fair!

Well, I did it

Thursday, September 13, 2012

So I made it to the gym. I did 65 mins on treadmill. I ran 8 times during the hour for .25 of a mile each time. I did fine up untill my 7th .25 of a mile. My knee felt like it was going to split open on the side. I slowed the run down to a walk and recovered. I did one more .25 mile run before my workout was over but it was full of knee pain. Ugh... I will work more on stretching before workout. I really want to keep running. Right now I'm icing and elevating before my shower :)

Sounds like you had an awesome workout until the knee thing. Why do you want to run instead of walking? Interval? You can use incline with walking to do intervals as well...?

Little Hard

Thursday, September 13, 2012

So, been working on shipping for my business. Then spent an hour with mother in law taking her to doctor's appointment. Now, bit of rest then gym. I'm hoping for an hour workout but I will see how it goes with my knee. Just a little tired today too.

two steps forward one step back

Well, so proud of my workout yesterday. I had pain in the outside of my left knee while doing it but it didn't seem that bad. Well, this morning can't move it without it feeling like it's going to snap in half. I'm pretty sure it's Iliotibial band syndrome. Inflammation of fibrous tissue that is there. I did really push it hard yesterday. So today rest and ice and no work. Hoping it just needs rest. If not better by Friday I'll go into to doc. I don't want to make it worse. So bummed though. It's going to be hard to not have my cardio to help control my appetite today.

Ah yes - pushing through the pain is not always wise! Hope the day of rehab helped...

If you really want some cardio, look for some of the chair workouts. We can actually get our hearts going pretty well through arm movements - even keeping the knee elevated throughout.
