Day Five

I tried but not too hard to not weigh myself but I did anyway. I didn't loose any weight. I had loose 1.5 pounds after the 1st day .5 the second .5 the thrid and then nothing the 4th and 5th. But I decided to measure myself. I've lost 2 inches from my waist and 2 inches from my hips in 4 days!!!!!! Sooo cool . I understand that the scale is not everything but I need it to go down to keep my momentum up. But I have to say two inches from both waist and hips is pretty amazing so I should be happy and I am

    You *should* be happy...but you should also be realistic. The windfalls so to speak...of big/fast weight loss are amazing...but you have to be ready for the scale to stay the same for several days...and when it does, to reflect on how much you've already accomplished, and on how your body feels...as in, can you feel the loss, the change of shape. I could feel my rolls lessening in just a few days, and that is well worth the trouble, regardless of scale victories.

You are seeing results and you'll keep seeing them if you just put your realism cap on so that you know what to expect...and what to just be grateful for, when the weight just falls off!

Congrats on beginning your journey and your already considerable success!

  Yeah, I like to weight myself once a week. Getting on the scale more than that will cause nothing but frustration. Weight loss is a long term life style change. By weighting in once a week, I have a goal to shoot for. And I start thinking about right after I weigh in on weigh in day. What I like to do is splurge a litte after I weigh in. Give myself a reward for working hard the whole week. Nothing big, just something small to feed my need to be rewarded. Hey, don't laugh, it works!

Day Four

This is my fourth day of really watching my calorie intake and exercise . I've been losing weight. after 1st day 1.5 pounds second day .5 pound third day .5 pound. and today nothing. I know I shouldn't be so dependant on what the scale states but it does give me motivation. It's hard when you know you've done everything right and the scale stays the same. Tomorrow my goal is to not weigh myself and wait till the next day.

    There's wisdom in weighing ONLY once every two weeks. The weight fluctuations will drive you mad otherwise..

    You've hit the jackpot...this place has been amazing for me so far... I wasn't even intending to start losing weight, but I was so tickled when I found SparkPeople that I dove right in. It's one month ago and 12 pounds lost (11 as of official weigh-in).
