Um...WTH happened?

Friday, March 19, 2010

Gosh I have not written a blog here in YEARS.

YEARS.

Well life got busy. I did find resolutions to the issues we had going on in our personal life. Not the ideal resolution, but out of the ways the road forked--I feel it was the best. I also found out my hormones were ALL OUT OF WHACK. I mean except for cortisol and thyroid, I had low everything! I found a physician who believes in bioidentical hormones, have been on them a little over 2 months and OMG MY ENERGY IS SOARING!! Albeit I had a set back this week as far as workouts (flu virus--and stomach at that blech), but otherwise I have been working out consistently since 2008 AND VERY CONSISTENTLY with cardio, strength and flexiblity since the HRT started. Yeah me!

I also learned I have to watch refined carbohydrates. PERIOD. I can get away with a few things, i.e., tortilla chips, but other things like candy or pasta---no. I will be dragging for a few days. It sucks in some ways because I love pesto over pasta, but there are worse things in life than not eating a particular food...and if I really crave it, I'm going to eat it.

I'm probably still at the same weight loss standstill as before (last time I checked which was yesterday 176 pounds) but from an all time high of 189 NOT PREGNANT I will take it.

I hope to find my motivation again, my energy is back so I suppose that shouldn't be far behind. I've also discovered I love love love kettlebells and Tracy Anderson, Bar Method, and Fluidity workouts so I've been alternating them. My doctor told me push, but do it gently as when I go balls to the wall with kettlebells more than 2x a week...I pay big time.

Hi DeeDee. I got off track for awhile with being ill and having all the high school and grade school graduation/end of the year stuff, but I'm hopeful.

Good luck with Jillian! I don't click with her personality, but her workouts are great (well the last few I never tried the earlier ones).

I will update this blog hopefully with some results soon!!

Hi! Are you still doint the TM workout? Is it working for you? Would love to read a blog update :)..I have actually switched over to Jillian Michaels dvds and like her no-nonsense style at the moment. I have to admit that I need to keep switching it up because I can't do the same dvd every day. Hope you're doing well! emoticon

The fanny lifter..is REALLY high....

Tuesday, February 19, 2008

Ouch! I did Baby Boomers aka Firm Volume 6 today and I didn't realize the instructor changed to the "short box" and I was dying...then I realized it.

I was kind of in the dumps about my weight but I talked to a friend. I weigh a lot for a size 14/16 and only 5'1". She said so too (I mean the number was higher than it seems like). She said "you're probably pretty solid and that's good." And she's right. I didn't think about that, but I'd rather be 150 pounds and a size 6/8 than 110 pounds and a size 6/8 because of muscle mass. Muscle rocks...so does flexiblity...which is why I love this combination.

Getting my groove back....

Sunday, February 17, 2008

Well I decided to unpack my weights. They have not been out of a box since September 2006. I decided that I need to do some more cardio, but prefer aerobic-weight training so my plan is after this sadhana to do one Firm video every other day along with perhaps 20 minutes of Kundalini yoga and on the 'other' day Kundalini for 60 minutes or thereabouts. I need to burn off some of this fat and get lean again.

Weekend kickoff workout!

Friday, February 15, 2008

I simply love Journey Through The Chakras and it is a rare treat to be able to do it through it's entirety and uninterrupted, but I had that chance today. I still need to work on the last segments where you are opening up the 10th gate, 3rd eye and aura, my arms fatigue; BUT I will.

I also revamped my diet information. For some reason it had me eating like 2500 calories a day. I *like* that idea, but I also knew it had to be unrealistic for someone of my height...and it was. I should be getting 1200-1500 calories a day so I redid all that stuff. It's depressing because basically it is hard to snack and get the recommended amounts. That has to be my only complaint about being short.

Losing it...and Dancing and Singing

Thursday, February 14, 2008

I can't find the journal section, I found it yesterday--but not today....groan.

BUT....

Today I realized I LOVE DANCE THE CHAKRAS by RaviAna. I love the singing meditations, I love the dancing, and I love the kriyas. This workout is so uplifting. I felt great after...until I had to clean up a flooded toilet from the youngest :( but such is life. I had a nice Valentine's Day. My husband sent me tulips and a teddy bear, the kids saved me some conversation hearts, and I had a relatively good dinner (which sent me about 200 calories over but meh it's the breaks).

Sat nam!
