I tracked in 2010 using SENARAE2010 as my screen name. I was doing okay, worked with a trainer for a few months and got a lot stronger. I didn't lose much weight, maybe 10 lbs from Feb to July.
I joined a BL-style competition at work (Jazzercise) and it's called "Jazz It Off!" and I really want to do well. It's a team and individual competition. I would like to lose 1% of my body weight each week, aka 2.2 lbs. I don't know how realistic that is, but it's my goal.
I weighed in this morning at 219.
I did 35 min of cardio and 55 min of a circuit class that kicked my butt! Rebecca taught those classes and WOW I am going to hurt tomorrow. :)
It will be good.
I have a field trip w/my team and coach tomorrow to the grocery store to get schooled on what substitutions to make and what to eat! I'm excited and am going to try to get in another class or two (cardio mostly) before that trip.
According to SP calculations I burned over 1200 calories today and that astonishes me! my deficit is over 1700 today. If I keep that up I will need to eat a bit more.
So far I am excited and looking forward to the challenge.

I met with a friend tonight for the first time in over 6 months. She has been steadily losing weight and I learned tonight that she's 5 lbs away from losing 100 lbs. Holy moly. She's looking really good.
I used to think to myself... being SUPER honest here... that she was the "fat one" and that as long as I was looking thinner than her, I'd be okay. NOW I'm the fat one in the friendship and really, it's motivation for me. Not that I want either of us to be FAT, it's just a wake-up call.
I realized that I've lost... (counting...) about the same amount of weight she had over my adulthood (95 lbs), but that it has been because I've lost weight then gained it back and lost it again and gained it back AGAIN. She's a good role model for working consistently at it. However, some of her habits are not so healthy. I know she smokes and that she eats very little. She does workout regularly, so that's what I need to emulate.
I was trying on different tops tonight before we got together and it frustrated me that I had to find something kind of baggy to "hide" my fat. I know the clothes don't really hide it, but I am less self-conscious when I wear certain things. I don't want to have to find a baggy top just to feel comfortable going out to dinner or for drinks after work. I want to be confident in whatever I choose to wear, and that is big. Choosing what to wear without hoping it hides my fat will be a good feeling.
I am down 1 lbs since Saturday. Slow and steady, slow and steady. Here's to getting rid of 35 lbs of fat by my reunion!

So the Mud Run is still going to happen, but I'm not going to freak out at how soon it will be here.
My focus is on getting fit (without further injury.. explanation to come) and eating more healthily.
For the past 7 days I have not exercised at all. I pulled my left hamstring last Wednesday and was starting to get back to normal when I re-injured it in the same way on Sunday. (Not going to describe the details. It had nothing to do with fitness.. it was really dumb. A friend said to just say I did it skateboarding. LOL)
Life has been SOO busy. I'm working 2.5 jobs. (Yes, 2.5... none are full-time...) I end up working about 35 hours a week, so really it's not quite full-time at all, but I am going to school (1 class) and my schedule is crazy.
I had the day off today and did less than I planned on. Oops.
So, my fitness plan is to be injury free for Wednesday so I can workout again at Jazzercise. I had committed to working out 3x a week there in the mornings, but with the injury it hasn't worked out so well. I also plan on doing an endurance workout on the weekends (Saturdays) so I can be ready for the approx. 6.5 miles I'll need to complete for the Mud Run.
Food-wise, it's getting a bit easier to eat less since I really don't have time to eat all the time. Evenings are still a challenge because I am home and there's always food here.
I have decided that I will lose 52 lbs by my next birthday. (Sept 5, 2010). This weekend I had some food treats that I normally wouldn't have had and it showed on the scale. I weighed in at 219. Holy moly that is almost OBESE for my height. Yikes. Time to turn this thing around!
So that's my update. :)

OMG.... I have 8 weeks til the Mud Run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have done three, 1-hour-long workouts since the 14th of this month. I neeeeed to step it up.
I will be doing my 1 hour workouts 3x a week and need to add a Saturday workout... a longer one to prep my body for the endurance it will take to get through the Mud Run.
That means I need to do an endurance workout this evening sometime. I just had an early dinner, so maybe I'll talk a long walk near sunset time, or go to the gym and rotate through the cardio machines.
I have some work to do for my job, so I should get going on that for now.

I have 3.5 months to get my butt into gear for the Mud Run. Holy MOLY.
It's JULY 1st today. I started the month off right with 30 minutes on the bike and 20 minutes on the basketball court! Woohoo! (I was 6/10 on my free throws... lol.) I met my friend at the gym and that helped to get me there.
I'm thinking I'll mix it up between biking and the elliptical machine for the majority of my cardio and then spend the rest of the time on the court. I'll save running until I get to 195lbs (1.5 months??) so it's not so hard on my knees. I can do pretty intense biking and elliptical work. I got my HR up to 165 today, just on the bike, so that is a good start.
I NEEEEEEEEEEEEED to do strength training. OMG. The Mud Run is sooo intense. One of the ladies from Jazzercise went and watched the June event and her report scares me!
10k, MUD, crawling, climbing... Time to get strong.
I am still working on finishing reading the book I have about fat loss. I think it has workouts in the book that I can do. I am glad about that. I need guidance.
At Jazz... I could take the personal training, but the trouble is getting the time to do it... (I could probably scrape together the money though.)
I need to do cardio EVERYDAY (M-Sa), Strength every other day (MWF) with a day of rest on Sundays. I know I can do this. I have the time. I can make the time. Up early or out late.... doesn't matter so long as I get it done.
