I didn't eat before heading out to a swim meet tonight. I really wanted to grab one of the chicken sandwiches they were selling at the snack bar.

But I didn't.

I thought of cool tomato salad waiting at home instead. And a home made sandwich.

Didn't enjoy the part of the check up where we discussed weight and bmi and my weight gain instead of weight loss.

But the things I can control are my activity levels (adding on) and food intake (being deliberate).

If I commit and follow through the weight loss should follow.

  


Asking for Help

I have a doctor's appointment coming up soon. Not only do I have several routine things that need done, but I'm going to ask for a referral for weight loss and/or nutritional counseling.

I am still only traveling through time in one direction, so I need to take the steps to be the healthiest me possible. My family deserves it and I deserve it.

  It was a good start. I hadn't realized how many years it had actually been since I'd done the routine checkups.

Keep working through the programs here too.

I was on a plateau in the winter.

I did get my thyroid meds adjusted and they seem to be better now too.

Walkies

I had a nice walk on the treadmill this morning. Even though I really didn't want to go to the gym at all.

The great workout I did yesterday ended up being a little too great. I have sore shoulders and calves. (Note to self: don't try to get a PR on a workout you haven't done in a month.)

But a half hour on the treadmill did a good job of warming up and loosening up my muscles. It just plain felt good after the first couple of minutes.

Which is a great reminder not to skip workouts. In fact I need to try to add in walking every day, not just rely on my training runs.

I'm so sore right now.

That video really worked me out today.

Tomorrow is my either off day or very light.

I may just go for a nice walk EEEK if it isn't raining

  Yep. The best thing to do for sore muscles is to use them again even though you don't feel like it.

Had a nice weekend that included a good set of run intervals, walking all around downtown and a good lifting workout.

Looking forward to another run out tomorrow.

Still have my eyes on completing a 5k that is all running.
