Planning success for the coming week!!

Hmmm, I don't think I'm going to entirely escape from the "flu bug" that flew into our house the other day....my head feels so stuffy this morning!!!! So I'm sitting here drinking a glass of guava juice, munching on some almonds and thinking of the week ahead of me.
Back to work.
Back to school.
AND.......it will become "back to school" for me in full force as of Sept 17th as I was accepted into my Masters program!
I'm excited...but also holding my breath as I'm looking for funding to pay for it ~ I know I can do it....it's there!!!!
This particular program allows me to continue to work full time as well....which is exactly one of the reasons that I like about it, that and the internship hours make it into a relevant situation and not one entirely based from lectures etc!
Additionally....my sister in law and brother in law came to visit for a few days.
My hubby hasn't seen his sister for 2 years and last night it was a great bbq, lots of laughter and stories and the 2 siblings planning their visit!

I can really see myself slipping into good old emotional eating habits already if I don't set myself up for options galore this coming week!
(Oh yeah....and on top of all of this...my "glow light and internal heater" is on high mode right at the moment...whoo boy I love being 47!)

OKAY ~PLANNING FOR SUCCESS!
#1 Buying lots of fresh produce from the farmer's market today!
#2 Making sure I have containers to pack my food into for: lunches etc! Buying cooler packs to keep my water and "freggies" cold during the day at work!
#3 Water, water everywhere....continue to drink water!!
#4 Planning out the week for exercise (creating plan A's and plan B's)
#5 Getting the laundry under control so that my exercise clothes are ready to go!
#6 Going to the bank to apply for a personal loan for schooling....and then I'll know whether I can go ahead with the program....
#7 Finish any "loose ends" before the long weekend so that I can start the year off on a good foot!
#8 Give myself moments to breath.
#9 Go to the beach for the sunset glow and watch my hubby chase fish with his fishing rod (pure entertainment, and a great way to relax with my sketchbook!)
#10 Remember that every day is a gift.

Well I didn't reach the `20lb mark that I had hoped for before the start of school.
Still I have lost inches and I'm feeling stronger than I have in a very long time.
With returning to work next week I'll be into a new routine with less freedom to cater to my whims....and thankfully the gym that I go to is offering a new fall schedule that will help me keep on track!
This morning's Zumba class didn't work out for me (insomnia last night) so I'm going with my plan "B" and a long bike ride into town later today!
I guess status quo isn't so bad....I'm not gaining, I'm healthier, and I've broken some pretty destructive eating habits.
It took me many years to get to this point....patience is going to be the key with me to realize it will take me time to lose the weight as well......

    Everytime you talk about your bike rides I want to get my bike fixed! Hopefully this weekend!! How do you calculate the distance you ride? Do you google the miles of your path?

UGH.
Woke up to my daughter yelling for me at 4a.m!!! Now she's 17 and it's rare that she "needs me" anymore...so when she called I literally hit the ground running out of bed!!
The flu bug had hit her hard (poor kid...last few days of summer holiday too...)
Well long story short I've been working on not as many hours of sleep as I typically get a night ~ and determined to keep my workout date with myself, I was out the door just after breakfast for Zumba.
UGH.
I hit the wall energy wise right at the 1/2 way mark and just couldn't get my feet moving! I literally turned into a pillar of cement and just stood and wiggled....(and jiggled...)
Here it is almost 5pm and I'm finding myself staring at the walls....and I know that if I crawl into bed for a snooze I will be done for the rest of the night.
My daughter? ~ Well she's spent the day reading, snoozing, texting and staying pretty quiet.
Me? I'm eating and drinking everything that will keep the flu bug from descending upon me.....I'm into countdown mode as I return to work on Tuesday...................................

    For me, it's a cold that my DS brought home from work this week. emoticon I've spent the last 2 days not doing much of anything; skipped Zumba the other night. Yesterday I watched movies with DS, read, and snoozed on the couch. This morning is a outdoor Zumba event, and I'm going even tho I still feel lousy. I still feel like I could curl up on the couch and fall back to sleep. emoticon

    I've had it too. A whole week of my holiday has been wrecked. Honey, lemon and ginger with a nip of whisky in warm water is soothing.

    I am sorry to hear about your day. I wasn't woken up at 4am and yet I too have felt like my legs are concrete blocks all day. Even now I feel like I can barely keep my eyes open, and it's only 7:45. I hope your immune system defends you, and that tomorrow is a new, bright, shiny day full of health and vibrant energy.

Okay ~ I did it and I wasn't gasping quite as badly as I was last week when I road up that hill!!!!
I still have to ride the majority of it in my lowest gears on my bike....but I did it without stopping!!!!
I love these successes!
Heading out blackberry picking....(they are calling to me....) Blackberries and french vanilla ice cream is the usual summer treat...this summer I need to find something else to pair them with that will fit the bill!
Time to search recipes!

Tonight I went to a fitness class that was absolutely packed!! I worked hard and turned a lovely shade of Magenta that matched my workout shirt!
On the way home I actually felt like I could have continued on!!!
A 2nd wind!
