Still Determined

Tuesday, February 15, 2011

I haven't been on Spark for almost a month! I have still been working on me though. Things have been really busy with my internship and kids, etc. Normally I would have given up by now and just figured it wasn't a good time. But not this time! I haven't been eating as good and working out as much, but I have been doing enough to maintain my weight loss. I am ready to pick up the pace again. I am going to try to get my husband to do it with me. I could use the support at home--and the competition!

Just pick up where you left off and keep at it! At some point it will become habit. Sometimes it is a harder task to figure out what works for us in way of motivation than anything. However - if you can do that - you have a perfect game plan.

Try being the one to suggest healthful activities. Okay kids, let's go for a walk. Or, honey - let's go for a romantic stroll around the neighborhood. You will all find you enjoy the time you spend together - it will be worth it. You don't always have to announce "let's exercise" - just get out there and show them how fun it is!

I know it is winter - but during the warmer months - we go walking (and pushing the baby) while the older kids ride their bikes in front of us / or roller skate / or walk and run. We end up having a great time - the kids don't realize they are exercising and dh and I get a moment to actually talk to one another without being distracted 100 different ways.

Here's hoping you find what works for you - and you enjoy it. I know you can!

Working it out.

Friday, January 14, 2011

It took a few days but I am starting to figure out how to fit things in. I started walking some during my lunch. It has been cold but I just bundle up. I also make sure to at least get on the Wii fit for at least 10 minutes every other day. I am really trying to make this happen. I figure a little change wherever I can is better than no change. I am really determined to lose this weight and get healthy.

Motivated but on a time crunch

Thursday, January 06, 2011

I have been on the program for a little over a month now. I have had good success so far. Now my schedule has changed and I hardly have any time to devote for taking care of myself. I feel so motivated, but just need more time in the day to plan meals, workout and educate myself about healthy living. Ugh! I feel frustrated! I am having a hard time balancing kids, husband, internship, work, house, and me. emoticon

I completely agree with dkelley. You should always be your number 1 priority!!! No matter what. Housework will always be there! Ask the hubby and kids to help so that you have time each day for you! After all, without a healthy you, none of the other stuff really matters! I found that out the hard way, and learned to make myself my first priority! I don't regret it for 1 minute!!! emoticon

Just remember that you are just as important as everyone else and if it is like any other household you probably keep everyone else up and running, so take care of yourself. I finally reached a point one day where I said I'm important too and I started getting greedy with my "Me Time". It was a great decision.
