Here are my measurements from two weeks ago:

Chest: 34"
Stomach: 30"
Hip: 38.5"
Thighs: 24"

For some reason, I forgot to weigh myself. Here are my new measurements:
Weight: 140
Chest: 35"
Stomach: 30"
Hips: 38.5"
Thighs: 23.5"

Well, half an inch off the thighs ain't bad, and added inch on the chest? Awesome! Unless it's back fat:/

I LOVE these kinds of things. I love to exercise, but I need structure and goals. So here are my measurements:

Chest: 34"
Stomach: 30"
Hip: 38.5"
Thighs: 24"

New Year, New Knee (Bootcamp Challenge)

On December 15th, I went in and received a new, titanium knee. I'm only 30, but my leg was such a mess, I really needed it.

Obviously I'm still recovering, but three weeks later, I'm doing quite well. I always have had a strong desire to exercise, and I want to make sure I don't lose it. On top of the physical therapy, I've added some Pilates. However, I'm thrilled about the Bootcamp Challenge and decided to join.

Of course I'm very limited in my movement, so I really have to be careful that I don't undo the PT by getting into bad movement patterns. I also need to change the exercises so that I can do them without hurting myself.

I don't know that I'll see any changes in my body, but I'm going to track my measurements anyway. I'll also track the bend of my knee. The thigh and calf of each leg is measured separately because I always favored my right leg because of the arthritis, and I would like to even them up.

Measurements for 1/4/08:

Weight: 143 lbs.
Waist: 29.5"
Hips: 37.5"
Thighs:
R: 21.5"
L: 23"
Calves:
R: 13"
L: 14.5"
Chest: 34"

The fact of the matter is--I'm the healthiest unhealthy person I know. I have asthma and severe arthritis in one knee, but I want to be in better shape than the people who were born lucky enough to have a clean slate, those who are able to run without limping the rest of the day, those who don't have to have to stop and pull out their inhaler and fear that they will someday be caught without it.
So, sure, I want to have a toned, perfect body. But I also want to be able to outperform them, outrun them, outdo them who take advantage of what they have. Because I shouldn't be able to, but I will.

I am going to try to be a good girl this weekend. I've been telling myself I'll go mountain biking the last two weekends, but I just haven't, whatever the excuse. However, I have some lofty goals this weekend (as I do every weekend). I'd like to make two biking trips and to go running in the park. I'd also like to do some hiking and swimming. My only concern is the weather! Stupid rain! Actually, the rain is fine--it's the storms I'm worried about.
