Have I told you all lately how much I appreciate you! Yes, you! This SP site rocks! It never fails that when I reach out for support or advice that someone reaches back. I haven't met any of you face to face. You don't know me from Adam and yet here you are in my corner. Caring about my successes and failures and cheering me on when the going gets tough.

I am ever so thankful that I stumbled upon this site several weeks ago! There is so much motivation and inspiration here, all you have to do is be open to it!

I decided to get involved in as many of the aspects of this site as I could each day and it's paying off in a big way. I am motivated, I am inspired and I am making progress despite the hurdles that come up in the course of daily life.

Should I or shouldn't I?

I'm really not sure if I should exercise today or not. I have had a nasty head cold and upper respiratory infection for the last 3 days. I am stuffy and a bit weak and a bit off balance from the cold meds that I took yesterday and last night. But I am thinking I could mange a few minutes of some exercise. I really hate to miss a day!

Weird new thoughts for me since a month ago I would have seen this as a perfect excuse to "get out of" exercising!

Any thoughts from you all about working out when ill?

    If you would feel more comfortable doing a little exercising, do just a little, and then rest for the rest of the day. Be sure not to overdo it!

    Just get outside for a while and walk and afterwards take a nap or something to help you feel better. Cold are nasty things and sometimes hang on forever. Just do light exercise until you feel better.

    When I need motivation for working out I always ask myself, "have you ever regretted working out?" then answer is always no. I feel better no matter how much I was dreading in before. If you're up to it, try doing a little something.

Home today

Still not feeling great so I am staying home today. I figure not talking to anyone will be a good way to rest my throat. I plan to rest and get a few things done around home like working on my monthly budget for May and putting my gear together for my scrapbooking crop tomorrow.

I am a bit achy and tired but I am thinking that I will also include a bit of exercise today as well, perhaps a few 10 minute sessions rather than trying to tackle a longer 45minute or hour long session.

Hopefully today's time off will help me be fully well tomorrow.

Dangerous place

I don't feel good. I have a sore throat and I am achy everywhere. This can be a dangerous place for me. When I am sick I feel sorry for myself and when that happens I seek the comfort of food. Ice cream might soothe my sore throat, I think. Or maybe if I eat I'll have more energy. I know that these things aren't necessarily true and that actually the best thing I can do for myself is to take a couple more Motrin and get some sleep. So with that I am off to bed.

Better than I imagined!

Well the house is quiet again after a super fun, busy, noisy and chaotic weekend with my nephew (7) my girlfriend who lives about 3 hours North of here and her son (also 7). Hubby and I live a pretty quiet life in comparison to this lively weekend!

On Friday I blogged about my concerns with eating on my food plan, and getting enough rest, water and exercise while we had guests.

Food was no problem at all, yeah! Planning my meals ahead of time as another Spark Person suggested was awesome advice, I got a lot of exercise on Friday and a bit less than I would normally have gotten yesterday and today but still I did get some. Sleep was a bit lacking so I plan to get to bed a bit earlier than normal tonight.

All in all I am pleased with how things went. Next hurdle will be vacation with my mom for a few days at the beginning of next month. After this weekend am feeling confident that our trip will go well too.
