This weekend could be tricky!

Friday, April 19, 2013

I'm not overly worried about it but I am concerned enough to post here and seek support.

My friend Barb and her 7 y-o are on there way here for a weekend visit. Hubby and I are borrowing our 7 y-o nephew for the weekend too. The two boys are best buds and I am certain we are all going to have a grand time!

Okay here's the but ..... I don't want to get so caught up in cooking, cleaning, visiting and playing that I forget about connecting here which is truly changing my life! That being said I am making a commitment to check in all weekend, to chart my food and make sure to get enough sleep, water and exercise. The rest of the weekend, I am just going to relax and play!

Thanks to all of you for being my support team and for holding me accountable!

Sounds like a super weekend planned, hope it's going well. And the checking in, too--I know how that can help. Good luck!

One thing that might help is to log as much of your food ahead of time that you know you will be eating. That way you will have a bit of a head start. And then relax and enjoy the visit.

What are you smiling at?

Thursday, April 18, 2013

Another rainy day in Michigan, but the temps are in the 70's, yeah! And so I smile!

Working a long day today, staying late for an evening Board meeting, but had an on site yoga class at lunchtime. And so I smile!

Piles and piles of paperwork to get to on my desk in the office, but I have a job I love. And so I smile!

Out of town company couldn't come last weekend because of bad weather, but we were able to reschedule for this weekend. And so I smile!

Behind on email and phone calls that I need to return, all from friends and family that I love. And so I smile!

Staying consistent with exercise has always been a challenge but it's becoming a regular part of my routine since I found SparkPeople. And so I smile!

Come to think of it, what's not to smile about! Join me?

Checking out

Wednesday, April 17, 2013

My hubby is watching the news coverage of the Boston bombings, again. I am going to escape to my craft room. It makes me too upset and sad to stay focused on it. Hope that doesn't make me seem selfish or unsympathetic

I worked a bit later than I had planned tonight and opted to skip the gym at it's most crowded time. Instead I walked in the neighborhood for 70 minutes. Here's what I noticed; lawns are greening up, there were several spring flowers in bloom, some of the trees have buds on them, the smell of spring was in the air. It felt great to be outside enjoying it. It feels good to be alive.

Isn't it great to be out where you notice such things? I'm glad it's so beautiful there.

I have no words

I am saddened and overwhelmed with the events today in Boston. I think I need to turn off the television now.

    It is so senseless.
