Just not feeling it!

Today is NOT an exercise rest day but I am not feeling moved to work out. I know I should, I want to see results, I just want to be lazy I guess and for no good reason, not sick, not pressed for time, not busy with other things. Just being a three year old and stomping around saying but I don't wanna do it!!!!

So what did I do about it? Updated my status to say I need a nudge to get going, committed to it when I huddled with my Spark Teams, said that I wasn't feeling it on a couple of fitness discussion threads and now created a blog post about it. I'll check in later with the results of my day and hope to post that I DID work out and that I feel better for having done so.

Okay so I figured I might as well get in on the Zumba craze and to that end I went to my first zumba class at lunchtime today. It was f-u-n! And I sweated my butt off. I probably looked pretty klutzy during some of the moves but I think that given time that will probably improve. I think the fact that it was fun, far outweighs most other factors for me particularly since inconsistency in exercise has been an issue for me for my whole life. So if you stop by the gym and see someone moving erratically and a bit out of sync but with a big grin on her face in a zumba class ... that will likely be me!

Today marks the end of my first 2 weeks on Spark people and already I can see the benefits in my program and life from being here. The key piece is the checking in and being accountable. I follow a really healthy and appropriate food plan and I am motivated to exercise consistently. There are so many ways to reach out and connect with others on a similar path plus tons of motivational opportunities to take advantage of. So, though I am new to this experience I plan to stay forever! emoticon

This afternoon I got home from working our Easter Egg Hunt at church and the last thing I wanted to do was workout. Earlier this week in an effort to keep my motivation to exercise consistently ramped up, I ordered 7 new workout DVD's. That's one for every day of the week! Well guess what was waiting on my porch when I got home today, yup Amazon delivered quickly and once again I had no excuse for not working out. I choose to do a 30 minute Ellen Barrett DVD called SleekSculpt express. It was fun and challenging. Guess those DVD's did exactly what I was hoping they would, motivated me to work out when it was the last thing I wanted to do. I am excited to try out the other six soon!

I am feeling grateful tonight. For the first time since joining this site (just about 2 weeks now) I thought about eating off my plan. I was running an errand at JoAnn Fabrics and while waiting in a long check out line, the candy that they have strategically placed there at the registers was calling to me. I glanced at it for only a moment and in my head I said a very big "NO!" So here I am just finishing yummy planned dinner grateful for that averted potential candy binge
